Quick To The Boil
Review of Breville VKJ487 by ms19

Advantages: nice design, good handle
Disadvantages: quite heavy, noisy when boiling, lid a bit annoying

In our office we have been meaning to get a new kettle for a while, the one we had before literally took 5 minutes if not longer just to boil a half full kettle. We love our tea and coffee and this waiting time is just too long to get a caffeine fix so it ... Read review

Safer & Sexier Than A Saucepan, Especially For Emergencies!
Review of Y&Y Whistling Stove Kettle by Nar2

Advantages: Large capacity size, lovely design, stainless steel, handy, whistle spout.
Disadvantages: Not as economical to use on a daily basis as electric, trad design means no water gauge.

It would be good if you could add a bit more info.Ann by anwar
Handy info but does it have a bare element you can see inside or concealed (ie a flat base)? Also, is it heat insulated in any way and can it be filled with water through the spout or do you find you have to release the lid all the time? by Nar2

Great review. If you really want an eco efficient kettle get a cheaper brand rated at 2200 watts. You'll lose out on the blue indicator and of course the boiling time - but 3000 watts no way constitutes as an energy efficient kettle, no matter what any brand tells you. 3kw/3000 watts are what most standard ceramic separate hobs start at! by Nar2
