Gets 5 stars and a recommendation from me!
Review of Wilko / Tradebrand Wilkinsons C/LESS 1.7L 0316169 by MsTricia

Advantages: cheap and cheerful
Disadvantages: basic

I used to have a rather large, gigantic and somewhat ugly looking Brita Filter Kettle for the last 3 years, but for the last 6 months it was barely used, grease stained from being positioned next to the Cooker, and the filter aspect had stopped working so ... Read review

Cheap doesn't get you a good kettle
Review of Cookworks 2283928 by PrincessGB

Advantages: Cheap, light even when full, easy to clean, quiet
Disadvantages: Spills easily, no swivel base

The Cookworks 228/3928 Silver Kettle is a simple kettle with a 1.7L capacity. It's priced at £9.99 in Argos. My thoughts I bought this kettle when I needed something cheap and cheerful to 'make do' until I could afford to replace my Russell Hobbs one wh ... Read review

Hot, Hot, Hot Heritage Kettle.
Review of Russell Hobbs 18256 Heritage by trayrope

Advantages: Looks nice, good value, matching items available, easy to kep clean.
Disadvantages: Water gage, flimsy power switch, power light.

Just before Christmas my kettle decided to go bang, it literally went bang. I filled it as usual, flicked the switch and then in a blue flash and a loud bang it had lost the ability to heat up water. Happily my local council collects small electrical item ... Read review

Russell boils up like an angry man, quick and often
Review of Russell Hobbs 19390 by blissman70

Advantages: Nice look, boils quickly, easy to use and auto shut off
Disadvantages: none

I hate kettles, but I like a good cup of coffee/tea. The reason I hate kettle is that they hate me. They all have it in for me, partnering toasters, all out to get me. My psychiatrist says they're only objects but what does he know, he hates me anyway. B ... Read review

Looks nice but makes water taste weird
Review of Breville VKJ472 by sirodar

Advantages: It boils water
Disadvantages: It boils water with a taste to it, bad lime build up, a bit cheap

Looks good - tastes weird Recently I reviewed a Kettle made by a man called Russell. I beamed about how good that the kettle was, and I also made a point of stating that I prefer plastic kettles because they don't seem to be plagued by limescale. C ... Read review

I know EXACTLY what you mean about metal kettles - they definitely do make boiled water taste odd. I always go for the plastic kettle option at home but at work they like a metal kettle too :o( by Bollinger28

You're quite right the expensive ones don't last any longer than the basic ones. I saved up for a De'Longhi and it lasted 6 months and cost 45 pounds. Never again. by splishsplash

The Equip Is Hip & Slick But Not As Quick As Electric!
Review of Morphy Richards Stainless Steel Stove Kettle by Nar2

Advantages: Nice traditional stove kettle, suitable for induction, gas & others, keeps hot water hotter longer
Disadvantages: Whistle not loud enough & traditional design means you lose out on speed, no filter or gauge.

If you have caught up on my recently updated review on the Y&Y traditional stove kettle, then you may well know that I have discovered a rust patch on the base of the kettle, which was bought originally in 2013. I only relied on it for usage in emergenci ... Read review

I guess our induction hob is about as far away from a "traditional" stove as you can get - but always good to have a back-up non-electric kettle like this. Top notch review as usual. R. by RICHADA

Disadvantages: none so far!

Review of Sabichi 95114 by Silveryew

Advantages: Boils water. Cheap. Shuts off when done boiling.
Disadvantages: It is cheap and cheerful, made out of plastic which some may find off-putting.

What is Russell Hobbs doing?
Review of Russell Hobbs 18941 by danielclark691

Advantages: Modern take on a classic design, affordable.
