Loved the idea of bringing a grill for an impromptu barbecue at the hotel. Sorry you couldn't find more CDs, DVDs, etc. There seemed to be plenty when I was there a few years ago, but I didn't look at them in detail - maybe they were all Russian language then too, or pirate. by torr

If I had covered absolutely everything the review would've been so long, I wouldnt have imagined holding people's attention! But in answer to your questions I booked 3 nights with Select-latvia.com and got a 3 for 2 nights deal...costing £104 in total (its booked in Lats but the total English amount depends on the exchange rate of the day it was booked) so I got a really cheap deal. Food is ridiculously cheap. I didnt eat in the hotel restaurant so I dont know what they charged but Riga is cheap generally all over. My cocktails were 4.50Lats each (£4.50)in the hotel bar. Compared to £6-8 here in England and even more in hotel bars! I didnt specify a hotel star rating cos it has been different on many different sites. But it is either 4* or 3*. I feel it should be between a 4 and 5 myself! I would also like to add that I submitted the very same review of this hotel on tripadvisor.com and had no complaints about the way it was laid out, infact I only have positive feedback! That is solely a hotel review site too! It would appear that Ciao invites rather alot of pedants here! by Misshampshire

You mention your air ticket cost but not how much it cost per night to stay in the actual hotel, or was that what you meant? It’s not very clear. Also you say it was something you expect from a 5 star hotel but I couldn’t see anywhere in your review what actual star rating the hotel was? You say you had nice cocktails, I’d like to know what sort of prices you were charged for drinks and/or meals during your stay :) I would also say that the format of the review was somewhat different, although not bad, it reads like a bulleted list - people tend to write reviews in paragraphs covering different areas within different paragraphs, not saying your way is wrong, just people are not used to it... by anonymili
