Sounds like a good course of action - but I would double-check the cable that connects the monitor to the pc, I have found that to be the culprit when flickering is apparent with certain colour combinations. If the cable is sound along its length and secure at both ends, then the monitor or graphics card may be suspect - sometimes handy to try another monitor using the same cable, if you have access to another pc system, just to be sure. by pgn0
