Nar2, can you use this product without a mains source? The answer is yes. If you use all four USB ports and/or the devices draw power then you would obviously need a power source, but it is 'self-powered' to an extent. by danielclark691

Review of Huawei E585 MiFi Pay As You Go + 12 - wireless router - cellular modem - desktop - with 12GB of Data by alexandjef

Advantages: Small, compact and pretty fast
Disadvantages: Only average battery life

I picked this up a couple of years ago, free on a 18 month contract from 3 (only £7pm for 1gb of data), a couple of years ago when I was a heavy iPad user. I had a WiFi only iPad and I found the fact I had to hunt for a WiFi connection - ideal ... Read review

Top choice for desktop wireless connectivity
Review of Cisco Aironet 802.11a/b/g Wireless PCI Adapter by eddyfenton

Advantages: High quality and will offer a solid connection.
Disadvantages: This isn't a 'n' model, so max connection speed is 54mbps

I've used several of these PCI network cards to connect a Desktop PC to a wireless network. Although this model can connect at 802.11g 54mbps and backwards (b, a), it still offers a decent speed and more importantly reliable and solid connection so long ... Read review

Advantages: Cheap, Cheap and REALLY cheap!!!
Disadvantages: None really, you can't argue with a super cheap adapter that works well
