To be or not to be in Helsingor
Review of Kronborg Slot, Helsingør by Pointress

Advantages: Famous castle, interesting castle, easy to get to from Copenhagen
Disadvantages: None

Kronborg Castle in Elsinore, about 50 km north of Copenhagen, was made a UNESCO Hertitage site in 2000. We visited this summer when we were staying with friend in Copenhagen. It is well worth a visit. It is probably the most famous of Denmark’s castle ... Read review

perfect budget accomodation in a very expensive city
Review of Cabinn Aarhus Hotel, Arhus by michelley26

Advantages: cheap for Denmark
Disadvantages: none for our needs

We used to live in Aarhus, and on the few visits that we took to Aarhus initially to find an apartment to rent, we stayed at the Cab Inn. Cab Inn is a Danish hotel chain, they have 8 hotels in Denmark; Aarhus, Aalborg, Esbjerg, Odense, and then 4 hotels ... Read review

No Aardvarks to be found here!
Review of Aarhus (Denmark) by dangaroo

Advantages: Easy to get to from UK, cheaper and less touristic than Copenhagen
Disadvantages: Expensive to use public transport to get to other cities

History: Aarhus is known as the oldest big city in Scandanavia, it's central location giving it trading possibilities in the old times with Germany, the Baltics and the nearby Danish islands to Jutland. It dates back some 1300 years to the Viking times b ... Read review

A Winter Visit To The Copenhagen Zoo
Review of Copenhagen Zoo, Frederiksberg by lusterlyra

Advantages: Has a Tropical zoo inside, has a few sections in the zoo which is interesting
Disadvantages: a little expensive to go during winter, only bus 6A reaches the direct entrance.

The Copenhagen Zoo seems to receive quite a lot of publicity hence the decision to make a visit when I was in Copenhagen. How To Get There Take Bus 12 from a bus stop in the city centre, perhaps the Town Hall Square or the main bus stop outside th ... Read review

Hi there. Welcome to Ciao. It's great to see you've written so many reviews; it would, perhaps be beneficial if you read how more established members write reviews. Your reviews can benefit from a bit more detail, and you'll get higher rates. You'll also get more rates if you read and rate other members, so they come back to read yours from recipocral curiosity. You get paid on ciao based on the volume and quality of rates you get, rather than the number of reviews that you write (although they do occasionally correlate). Hope this helps. Review of Best Western Ritz, Arhus by JVL

Advantages: Central location, free wireless access, clean and tidy
Disadvantages: Showing its age a bit!

Returning to Aarhus, there was no chance I was ever going to check back into the Hotel Mercur (see my review from April 2008 to read just why you should steer well clear) so I had to get searching for somewhere else. Denmark's second city seems to suffer ... Read review

Advantages: Great range of museums

Disadvantages: No spa on site

Budget accommodation in Esbjerg, Denmark.
Review of Esbjerg Hostel, Esbjerg by jimh1

Advantages: Cheapest in town, clean, nice building.
Disadvantages: Only just in town, bit like going to a boarding school.

If the Encyclopædia Britannica ever decides to create a virtual hostel to communicate exactly what a hostel looks like, they probably ought to model it on this one. It does everything that a hostel should do, and not a single late-night-beer more. As with ... Read review

Advantages: Clear, well maintained roads
Disadvantages: dangerous unless you read this, expensive

That account couldn't be closer to the truth!! Im English living in Aarhus (possibly indefinately) and I absolutely love it! The most friendly nation Ive ever been to and you dont have the worry of being mugged/blown up in a terrorist explostion/hit with a parking/speeding fine everywhere you go. You also dont get those horrible little oiks that hang round shopping centres, like we do in the UK. The youths in Aarhus are well educated, friendly people who prefer to spend their time socialising in cafes - rather than all getting drunk in bars. Finally, Jimh1 was right about the vikings leaving only beautiful women behind!! - they are stunning! I should know... thats why I live there. You will LOVE it here. by tomdougal1980
