Stevenage companion care inside pets at home- Appalling
Review of Companion care vet (inside pet's at home stores) by emmabenji1988

Advantages: None, not even cheap!
Disadvantages: no compassion, treatment options not explained

I left this vets feeling confused, worried and disheartened. I visited for a problem that I assumed would be relatively simple to fix (dog scratching and biting itself). I was informed without compassion that he likely had an allergy and that it would be ... Read review

Vet care can be expensive however I feel that it is the response of the vet and staff that make the difference. My vet has always been up front and honest with me about my dog (Milo) care and the cost. If by chance an x ray is needed they will talk to me before hand and explain why one is needed. I have also been shown the x rays, blood work results, so I understand the need for tests which is important. by angiepaddock
okay more info, this vet practice offer all services they advertise on there website. I did look around at other vets to get a cost idea and found that ccvets at chippenham had the best prices and did offer as far as i could see better services, in house testing, xray facilities, and much more. They are also opened 7 days a week which brilliant because my lab manages to get ill on the weekends as well as the week days. Never had a problem at all in getting to see a vet, The prices as far as i have found are cheaper than most other vet practices and they do offer a care package for the pets, again this is advertised on there website. by angiepaddock

lying unsympathetic vet.
Review of Companion care vet (inside pet's at home stores) by kiitikat04

Advantages: there is one nice vet working there
Disadvantages: the receptionists are very rude. main vet unsympathetic and lies.

Speak to the council, as regardless, there should be some animal cruelty laws in place to stop this happening by euphie
Yes I reported the vet. But because he is the head vet ther , no action was taken against him. Like I said my cat was not the first pet to die under his care. Look up daily mail dog dies after castration. The very same vet rahul shah. Its so sad so many pet deaths and still no action against him by kiitikat04

We've been with them for years though, and never left any bill unpaid. On the one occasion when I forgot my wallet, I phoned them immediately when I got home and paid over the phone. I'm sorry, but it was the fact that my partner was chased down for the payment after his little cat had died. They could easily have phoned us, they have all our details. I've changed vets now. I have asked the vets for a point by point breakdown of what we were charged for, as I do think that the amount is too high considering she was dead on arrival and they literally confirmed this and that was all. They performed no service and administered no drugs/treatment. So in truth, I am annoyed at the charge. Hubby paid the money when he was chased down, so we're not trying to "get out" of paying, though I would like to know just precisely what we were charged for!!! Thanks for all of your sympathies though, Jasmyn was such a little treasure and there is a hole in our happy home since we lost her. xxx by Foreverdark87

I am not saying don't take your dog to the PDSA, what I'm trying to say is for what ever reason if you can afford to maybe get another vets practice to take a look at your pet I would advise it. To get a stroke and food inhaling mixed up and also a fatty lump and cancer mixed up after 4 visits and two cells taken from the lump I don't trust them anymore myself, I just don't want other dogs to suffer though wrong advise. I would never advise someone not to take a dog to any vets if their dog was ill I'm not even including the time they have my dog a hayfever relief tablet when she got attack by a swan......I took her to another vets at this point and they said they was shocked and surprised at what they had given her they gave me painkillers and antibiotics it cleared up in a few days, god knows what would have happened if I gave her what the PDSA gave me. by vics90
PDSA centres provide a veterinary service free of charge for pets whose owners cannot afford to pay and are on certain benefits to qualify. If you can afford to insure your pets then that is what I would urge any pet keeper to do. I am sorry that the review writer is understandably so upset about the loss and illness of the dogs. However, please if your pet is ill and you qualify do take it to the PDSA to avoid unneccesary suffering. I have friends who volunteer for the PDSA and they work extremely hard for the pets to provide a FREE service. by LiveMusicLoverLyn

I am so sorry for your horrible experience. I would normally rate a review down drastically for all caps, but I can appreciate you are writing this with a broken heart and this is something which other potential customers really need to see, so I am going to rate this as helpful. Wish I could offer some words of comfort, I know you must be suffering terribly. I d believe you need to report this to the relevant authorities when you've has some time to rest and grieve. If you happen to have used a credit card - you may be able to do a charge back to the 1st vets for failing to provide the service you paid for, but I know nothing can make up for this, You did your best, so don't beat yourself up, and when the time is right I'm sure you;'ll find the room in your heart for another dog. They break our hearts, but something is always missing without one. by Marge3781
