Lovely Setting
Review of Nora, Cagliari, Sardinia by
Meggysmum
Advantages: Interesting and a beautiful setting
Disadvantages: Very exposed, nowhere to buy water once on the site
Our cruise ship docked at Cagliari in Sardinia in August. Although Sardinia is well known for its beautiful beaches we decided that we would prefer a bit of history so we headed to the Nora Archaeological Park which is to the west of Cagliari, near Pula. ...

Idyllic way to spend a winter morning.
Review of Nora, Cagliari, Sardinia by
DylanRome
Advantages: One of the few Roman archeological sites in South Sardinia
Disadvantages: Few signs. You walk without realizing what you are seeing.
I went to Nora in a warm, sunny day of February 2010. I was familiar with the South Coast of Sardinia, but I never went there, although the place is well known for its archeological ruins. I couldn't choose a better place to spend a Saturday morning.
I'd ...

Advantages: Relaxing, nice pool area and beach, shuttle bus to Alghero.
Disadvantages: Hotel drinks quite expensive, pool water was very chlorinated.
I chose to go to Alghero, Sardinia after looking at Ryan Air's fly for a penny (+tax and charges which were low) site. I also wanted somewhere which will still have good weather in October. We were lucky because it was very hot for four of the five days ...

Advantages: Nature in one of its beautiful forms

We visited the Grotto while on a mini break to Alghero.
We took one of the Boat Trips from in front of the Old Town Walls, easy to find. Be aware that most of the Boat Trips do not include the Entrance fee into the Grotto which you pay on arrival.
It is ...
