Imagine a world with hardly any water...
Review of The Well - Catherine Chanter by beautybuff

Advantages: a bit different
Disadvantages: probably not for everyone

I can't even remember where I picked up this book, probably from a charity table but I do know that I though it sounded right down my alley, set in a new world where water is scarce and it's a bit of a bunfight to stay alive... Slow paced Whilst reading ... Read review

Review of The Warrior's Apprentice - Lois McMaster Bujold by Secre

Advantages: Plot, development, characters; a wonderful novel
Disadvantages: A pest to get hold of a hard copy now although not impossible

Miles Vorkosigan is the son of the famous Count Aral Vorkosigan, the Former Regent of Barrayar, Prime Minister of Barrayar, Admiral and Butcher of Komarr. It is quite a name, and quite a man for that matter, to live up to. Even more so when you have been ... Read review

Life on Mars, but not as expected
Review of The Martian - Andy Weir by siberian-queen

Advantages: something a bit different
Disadvantages: wasn't edge of your seat exciting

The Martian by Andy Weir I think I might like this book from the first line “I’m f***ked” The story starts by delving straight to the heart of the matter and reasons why he is “f***ked” as he puts it! Set out in a clear and concise language and manne ... Read review

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" is a VERY funny book.
Review of The Hitchhiker's Guide to The Galaxy - Douglas Adams by cameronamr

Advantages: Incredibly Funny
Disadvantages: Not Suitable for younger children

In my opinion, the best books are the ones that make you laugh. The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy made me laugh a lot, and is therefore my favorite book of all time. I think that nowadays, a lot of books essentially have the the same plot. The plot of ... Read review

Welcome to Ciao, this is a really good start! Think about what you’d want to know before making a purchasing decision and write it out for others; a brief plot summary, writing style, characters, themes, etc can all be covered. Why did you love it or hate it. Aim for 500 words as your base minimum word count. Lower than that and you will be scraping H's where the money here is in the VH's and above. A Trip Down Doctor Who Memory Lane!
Review of Doctor Who: Essential Guide to 50 Years of Doctor Who - Justin Richards by Chippytarka

Advantages: Lots of information included, great pictures, easy to read, represents the TV show well
Disadvantages: Suitable for a fan but not for everyone

I think its quite rare to have something in common with young children. When I say young children, I don't mean just anyone, but I'm thinking about shared likes with my son. He's what I would call a typical boy, always full of energy, has a strange fascin ... Read review

Catherine Chanter: Well Well Well....
Review of The Well - Catherine Chanter by cr01

Advantages: Umm, nicely written
Disadvantages: A mish mash of a plot

Catherine Chanter’s The Well is nominally at least, the type of book that I might enjoy. It’s a tale of the near future where it’s a very familiar world, but there’s a twist. In this case, the UK is going through a prolonged and severe drought, and Chante ... Read review

An Annual Affair With The Doctor!
Review of Doctor Who: Official Annual 2016 - Various Authors by Chippytarka

Advantages: Cheap price, great pictures, good easy to understand descriptions of character's and events
Disadvantages: Nothing really connected with the 2015 series

Mostly Harmless: Another Great Novel from Douglas Adams
Review of Mostly Harmless - Douglas Adams by Elna642

Advantages: Funny, clever, unique, interesting, easy to read
Disadvantages: Not as good as the first book, no Zaphod or Marvin?

Clever and strange, but not as good as the first book.
Review of So Long, and thanks for all the Fish - Douglas Adams by Elna642

Advantages: Clever, well-developed characters, funny, strange
Disadvantages: No real plot, very short, not as good as the rest of the series, no Zaphod?

This is the fourth book in Douglas Adam's infamous The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series. As is always the case, the first couple of books are definitely the best, but I always have to read the whole series after I start! So in this book, Arthur De ... Read review

Disadvantages: Not as good as the first books, easy to get lost at times
