Filtering my water, one slow glass at a time
Review of Terraillon Atlantic by crystalaward

Advantages: An interesting design; gives me fresh tasty water
Disadvantages: Doesn't hold much water in the filtered reserve; forced to use Terraillon filter cartridges

I was bought the Terraillon Atlantic water filter by a relative for my birthday, I have a Brita water filter that I'm very happy with but it was a gift so I thought I should use it and packed my Brita filter away to come back to when I'd used the supply o ... Read review

Lazy Sunday Coffee with Cuisinart
Review of Cuisinart Grind and Brew Automatic by cyrila

Advantages: easy, lazy, fresh coffee
Disadvantages: getting the espresso right

I have always fancied grinding fresh coffee beans and then brewing them but could not be bothered with transferring from machine to machine. I also have limited space on my work surface in the kitchen so I always go for a limited amount of machines and ga ... Read review

I doubt youll be able to make an espresso on this machine if it is just a filter coffee machine and a grinder. I have been waiting for a machine like this to arrive on the UK market as the U.S have had them for 10 years wiith the grinder attached. Espresso is not the same as filter coffee - it uses high pressure taps to produce the coffee and filter coffee powder ground from beans does not make espresso coffee powder, either. A lot more info would be handy here as to cleaning it, noise levels, if it has a coarse to smooth grind dial and the size of the machine. by Nar2

Brita? Nice Jugs
Review of Brita Marrella XL Water Jug by RosesAreRed1207

Advantages: easy to fill
Disadvantages: large design, cumbersome

We don’t have the luxury of a water tower at work as to cut costs the company took them out! The water from the tap is just not good, its cloudy, its warm and we had to drink frothy tea which was disgusting but when you need your caffeine fix you would dr ... Read review

Salt and pepper. DONE.
Review of Russell Hobbs 12051-56 by Krumlovian1

Advantages: vary the grain, one hand operation
Disadvantages: they don't hold very much

I am not sure how I acquired these but I suspect they were a present from my Mother or an Aunt as they seem to always buy me kitchen gadgets. I keep trying to explain to them that I love fun gadgets; but not really ones for the kitchen. An electric whisk ... Read review

Crisp and fresh drinking water, but a horrible jug
Review of Kenwood WF097 LCD Water Filter With Life Indicator by alliewallie

Advantages: Is compatible with cheaper filter cartridges
Disadvantages: The water is very splashy as it pours, an awkwardly shaped and positioned handle

I drink a lot of water because I have a very active lifestyle, coupled with quite severe IBS that makes it hard for me to drink anything else. Where I live in the Midlands the water is very hit and miss, at work it's usually fresh and clear but at home i ... Read review

Review of Brita Spacesaver Jug by Krumlovian1

Advantages: no batteries, simple design
Disadvantages: loose lid, remembering to change filters

A Novel 70s comeback that looses its charm
Review of Swan Teasmade by cyrila

Advantages: tea ready when you wake up
Disadvantages: noisy, needs to be reset each time

After having read a review on Ciao I decided to buy this and give it a go. The price was £59.99 from John Lewis exactly as the reviewer had said and was surprisingly modern looking as reviewed. I had been put off by the 70s image but I heard that teasmade ... Read review

Handy review though I think you're expecting too much - thie machine does exactly what the Goblin Teasmade original models did and Swan here have obviously designed it to be just so, not just from the look. It would be more helpful to know the actual size, in comparison to something as well as the fact that the tea it actually produces is hot enough. Also is the pot dishwasher safe, is it made of good quality, is the actual machine heavy>? by Nar2

Funky grind
Review of Bodum LIME by xsparks

Advantages: Well designed, simple to use and clean. Small and compact
Disadvantages: Perhaps a little more expensive than others.

A well-designed grinder for coffee lovers
Review of Bodum Bistro Burr Grinder 10903-106 by Illyria

Advantages: anti-static container, burr grinder, previous product was long-lasting
Disadvantages: many of the colours are horrid

I cannot imagine how jarring a fluorescent-anything coffee mill would look, as I stagger half-asleep to find the switch and co-ordinate the first brew of the day... black is a better option. It does seem a bit pricy, though, compared to my £35-odd black and smokey-grey and silver Krups (in my reviews somewhere, I suspect, if you are interested.). by pgn0
