One of the most important things in bowling is a good approach. I would recommend a 4 step approach. Starting with the right foot take a small step towards the foul line and on the second step start to push the ball out by the third step the ball should start a *free* arm swing by the four and last step should be a slide. Time it so the last step coincides with the release of the ball. Always use the marks on the lane and never look at the pins as you bowl. Aim for the same mark every time and this should get you consistency: the foundations to a good game. For ball fitment pick a ball that you can hold easily from a stretched out arm, if you can't its too heavy. Hope these points help, I've tried to describe the best I can though nothing quite beats being shown in person the fundementals. Happy bowling! by il_cacciatore
