Personally I can't see why anyone would need anything more than this, but the last time I was looking for a new toaster a few months ago I was amazed how much some manufacturers charge. I suppose it's like "designer" kettles - a cheapo model from Asda will boil water just as well as a fancy posh model, so my (perhaps simplistic) mind can't grasp why people would pay all that extra money. by jonathanb

Sounds like you've had your money's worth - I've never been quite sure why the lowest setting on a toaster always has such a mild toasting effect that I call it the "show it the toaster" setting; then again, I've also never been sure why using the highest two always seems to turn my bread to charcoal! by KateHurst

I wonder what the outcome was of the gravy pouring test, assuming of course that the appliance in question didn't do something predictable like blow up.
