A Nerve Not Needed.
Review of Greenwich University by Loistarr

Advantages: Great teaching and facilities, Lovely university in general!
Disadvantages: Is not as elite as many other universities - but don't be put off!

I started at Greenwich university last September, entering with quite a worried outlook. I live local to the university, and everyone I spoke to looked down on my choice, thinking I should pick somewhere that was much more recognised and required higher g ... Read review

I will graduate from Lancaster University in July, So I have decided to give this in-depth review for future 'potential' students. I know how hard it is to choose a University 3 years ago I was doing the same therefore I have separated this review into se ... Read review

great for postgraduate
Review of de Montfort University Leicester by maxyman

Advantages: teaching quality, links with industry, unformal environment
Disadvantages: Leichester is not London

Postgraduate degrees are great. Some of the lecturers are known at world level and all of them hold a good PhD. Most of their research is rated at international level, in subjects like english literature this university is second just to Oxford and last b ... Read review

The Open University is the bees knees
Review of Open University Milton Keynes by areajohn

Advantages: You are helped all along the way
Disadvantages: Probably cost now but this is course dependent

To start studying at the Open University you may need to have already attained certain qualifications dependent on the course that you choose. In the Humanities, the subjects I chose, you can start by taking a foundation course which teaches several disci ... Read review

Staff is awful
Review of Newcastle University by schmulakinsbears

Advantages: PG 1 year program
Disadvantages: lack of personal attention, lack of funds, not quality education

The uni itself is fine, but departments vary greatly. I'm part of the ECLS doing a PG in Communication and it is shit. The teachers are overworked, understaffed, underpaid, and budget cuts are all over the place. Classes are taught by PhD students, which ... Read review

I think this would be better placed as a review of your particular course, rather than the university as a whole, since you admit variation between departments and don't address issues such as range of subjects, entrance offers, student's union, accommodation, etc. Also I'm not even clear what you're studying? PG is Post-Graduate I assume, but is this a PG Diploma or a Master's degree or what? And what's the ECLS? by a-true-ben
Your passion comes through but is this review really that useful to someone thinking about going to Newcastle uni? It could do with a little more background and balanced opinion, rather than just a rant. Regards, Mike. by MikeOCarroll

Lampeter rebranded - Trinity St David - but is it any better?
Review of Wales University Lampeter by SherlocksGhost

Advantages: Beautiful place. Can walk everywhere in town/campus. Child friendly. Quite cheap. Good societies.
Disadvantages: Isolated and wet. Very small. Poor costly transport. Limited entertainment. Bad management.

I studied for my degree at Lampeter and I also worked at the University for a time, so perhaps can give quite a balanced opinion of what is on offer. So where is it and what is it like? Lampeter is in Mid West Wales, close to beaches, scenic walks, ... Read review

University of HUll
Review of Hull University by eager12

Advantages: campus, staff, courses, societies/ clubs, library
Disadvantages: distance from the centre of town

I chose Hull University as on an open day the staff and students were so welcoming and the campus and accommodation were very impressive. Although I did not want to look at Hull because of its bad reputation as a city, after the first open day i was hooke ... Read review

I'm surprised to see a university review that makes hardly any mention of lectures, seminars, library provision, or anything academic. Granted you can only speak for your subject (geography, it seems), while the information that you do include is likely to be of interest to any potential Hull student, but surely it's worth mentioning your experience of Hull as a student. by a-true-ben

Absolutely the worst experience of my entire life - DO NOT GO!!!
Review of Sunderland University by MonkeyLover1995

Advantages: None

Sorry to hear about your experiences, but this rant is rather one-sided. There must be some good features, like what led you to go there in the first place? And it would be more useful if you gave details of, e.g., your course, since comments on the lecturers are probably not true of all. by a-true-ben

Poor - Do not spend your hard earned thousands of pound here.
Review of Bradford University by BUTTERCUP54

Advantages: You do not need high grades to get a place, the university is small so you will not be overwhelmed
Disadvantages: Poor outdated attitude of staff, poor PG standards. Not a major player in the world of academia !

I was briefly a postgraduate student at this institution - I would NOT recommend it to ANYONE! My experience of this university has not been positive at all. Whilst it's facilities (e.g. physical environment, accessibility, location, size etc) are adequat ... Read review

Disadvantages: , I felt like in 5 months I didn't learn anything usable, and dropped out in the end

A University practicing racism continues to slip in the rankings!

Advantages: There is a Costa and Nero in the city-centre.
Disadvantages: If you are an ethnic minority interview candidate you won't stand a chance.
