Very Poor Music Course
Review of LIPA (Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts) by doodle1234

Advantages: Life experience you'd get at any university, musical jobs that you'll work for 3 years while there
Disadvantages: The jobs aren't paid, tutors are disorganised, you won't actually receive any musical education

As a graduate, the music course is extremely poor as another review on this site has mentioned. It is poorly organised and offers you extremely little musical education in return for what is now a ridiculous amount of money. I've suffered a lot from the ... Read review

I'm sorry you had a bad experience but if you are to help others then surely your review should state what the course claimed to offer and what you expected from it so that the reader can tell if your expectations are met? Messed up bookings and lost data alone do not make a bad course. by sharper_fin
It's always a shame to read about someone who appears to have invested so much and yet was unhappy with the outcome. However for this to have much value the reader would need to know what expectations they had of the course and whether they were realistic. by cr01

I must confess that I found the educational level of the content to be pretty woeful when I did a few courses 7-8 years back. As I was doing it for fun rather than qualification I soon gave up; however I'm pleased you are getting more from it :o) by cr01

cr01, thanks for the comment. Yes, it is very expensive, however that is what a student loan is for! I had the most expensive accommodation, and while I don't go out drinking etc, I do have a very expensive hobby (motorsport!) and my student loan covered my accommodation, food, and my hobby, with some left over. Renting a house the following year, I still broke even while running a car. In my final year, I am living at home and commuting (thus with a reduced student loan) and am worse off financially. It seems a lot of money, but student finance covers it all. Thanks for the advice, I have updated the review to include the study facilities. by minnis93
Interesting stuff and those prices make my eyes water. Heh, you should have done the maths and studied out of London :o) I thought you could have added a paragraph or two about the study facilities in the University, so your review felt a little unbalanced overall. Just my take of course. by cr01

It might be worth broadening your review to cover life for those who live close to the university i.e. how close to campus are the closest/most distant halls of residence? Also, what is the library like and what sort of facilities does it offer? What does the student union offer - both in terms of societies to join and facilities like cafes, small convenience shops, travel offices etc? by KateHurst

Advantages: Good shops and banks in the town centre

If you believe the course material was copied from wikipedia it would be easy enough to prove it by checking there yourself... You may have been better off doing an English literacy course as your current writing skills will do you no justice in a marketing role to be honest. by anonymili
