I must confess that I found the educational level of the content to be pretty woeful when I did a few courses 7-8 years back. As I was doing it for fun rather than qualification I soon gave up; however I'm pleased you are getting more from it :o) by cr01

cr01, thanks for the comment. Yes, it is very expensive, however that is what a student loan is for! I had the most expensive accommodation, and while I don't go out drinking etc, I do have a very expensive hobby (motorsport!) and my student loan covered my accommodation, food, and my hobby, with some left over. Renting a house the following year, I still broke even while running a car. In my final year, I am living at home and commuting (thus with a reduced student loan) and am worse off financially. It seems a lot of money, but student finance covers it all. Thanks for the advice, I have updated the review to include the study facilities. by minnis93
Interesting stuff and those prices make my eyes water. Heh, you should have done the maths and studied out of London :o) I thought you could have added a paragraph or two about the study facilities in the University, so your review felt a little unbalanced overall. Just my take of course. by cr01

It might be worth broadening your review to cover life for those who live close to the university i.e. how close to campus are the closest/most distant halls of residence? Also, what is the library like and what sort of facilities does it offer? What does the student union offer - both in terms of societies to join and facilities like cafes, small convenience shops, travel offices etc? by KateHurst

AVOID IT LIKE THE PLAGUE IF YOUR MARKETING STUDENT
Review of Teeside University by star2013

Advantages: Good shops and banks in the town centre
Disadvantages: Poor teaching

If you believe the course material was copied from wikipedia it would be easy enough to prove it by checking there yourself... You may have been better off doing an English literacy course as your current writing skills will do you no justice in a marketing role to be honest. by anonymili

Don't go to Loughborough unless you live for sports.
Review of Loughborough University by emploandon

Advantages: good for sports
Disadvantages: Bad night life, bad for socialising

Staff is awful
Review of Newcastle University by schmulakinsbears

Advantages: PG 1 year program
Disadvantages: lack of personal attention, lack of funds, not quality education

I think this would be better placed as a review of your particular course, rather than the university as a whole, since you admit variation between departments and don't address issues such as range of subjects, entrance offers, student's union, accommodation, etc. Also I'm not even clear what you're studying? PG is Post-Graduate I assume, but is this a PG Diploma or a Master's degree or what? And what's the ECLS? by a-true-ben
Your passion comes through but is this review really that useful to someone thinking about going to Newcastle uni? It could do with a little more background and balanced opinion, rather than just a rant. Regards, Mike. by MikeOCarroll

Disadvantages: Isolated and wet. Very small. Poor costly transport. Limited entertainment. Bad management.
