Never miss a thing
Review of Virgin Media V+ Box by RosesAreRed1207

Advantages: records tv easily
Disadvantages: occassionally misses the end of a programme

...I switched from Sky to Virgin media, the main reason I switched was because of the quality of the Virgin + box. Without bad mouthing Sky, I simply was not happy with their services and thought that it was time for a change. I think I ended up paying ... Read review

Top set top box?
Review of Virgin Media V+ Box by steves001

Advantages: Wide range of programmes; easy recording; picture & sound quality; 'free' HD
Disadvantages: Not quite the latest set top box functionality; can freeze and quite slow to reboot

When our combined DVD/VHS recorder finally died a death some time ago we needed to replace it as soon as possible, preferably with something a bit more up to date. Upgrading our existing cable set top box solved the problem; it also had a number of other ... Read review

Great VCR!
Review of Alba VCR6000 SIL by jmurray01

Advantages: Looks nice, works!
Disadvantages: For the low price, none that I can see!

I bought the Alba 6000 SIL back in 2004 from Argos for £39.99 if I remember correctly (but it is more than possible that I do not!) to replace an old 1980's VCR we were using that kept blowing fuses and ejecting the VHS straight after inserting! Firstly, ... Read review

Reliable machine...
Review of Funai 31 B-250 by jmurray01

Advantages: It works!
Disadvantages: Only a 2 head, bland remote control, and no display.

I bought the Funai 31 B-250 about three years ago, and in that time, it has only been used for about 2 months, then put in the cupboard! I've since put it back into use recently, as my only other option was the old Alba one which works, but the flap has ... Read review

Virgin V+ - Great PVR
Review of Virgin Media V+ Box by powerfulrogue

Advantages: Record two channels while watching another. Pause and rewind live tv
Disadvantages: Can become slow when harddrive fills up

Ive currently got 2 V+ units (One in each reception room) as they are such great machines! The default settings on the V+ are some of the simplest that I have come across and my personal opinion is that they are also easier to use compared to the Sky+ bo ... Read review

Like A Virgin
Review of Virgin Media V+ Box by bubblepop2

Advantages: record 2 shows while watching a third, on demand
Disadvantages: responsiveness to the remote is poor

The Virgin V+ HD box is a great TV service. With this box you can pause and rewind live TV, you can also record up to 2 programmes at one time, while watching another. I also allows you to watch HD channels and this comes at no extra cost with the XL pack ... Read review

Bush gets licked again?
Review of Bush VCR809 by thedevilinme

Advantages: Does the job

The one crime statistic you can believe is the fall in house burglaries, electrical goods like videos, DVD players and Playstations, the traditional booty of the in and out drug addict, so cheap now the fence value makes it not worth the effort. You can g ... Read review

Decent, Small, Cheap VCR - Annoying Tracking System
Review of Bush VCR925 by deadevil13

Advantages: Good Size, Simple To Use, Very Quiet
Disadvantages: Auto Tracking System Is A Load Of Balls

I brought this little VCR for a quid, yes £1 from eBay. I wanted something small and easy to use for recording VHS tapes to my computer. I was very happy to see it was of a good size, no more than 22 cm deep. As i brought the VCR second hand it didnt com ... Read review

Sorry to rate low, but more needs to be added to provide a really useful review for consumers. For example, most customers would want to know how well a VCR records, but this is not covered. I'm also wondering if the failure of the Auto-Tracking feature and the sound fluctuation of the machine are intrinsic design flaws, or are they faults which have developed on the machine prior to you acquiring it? If you add any more to your review, let me know so that I could possibly re-rate it. by ALM1

Disadvantages: Outdated Technology, Complicated to use
