Advantages: Fun, educational, entertaining, hands on
Disadvantages: Very big (can't see it all), can't take pictures of exhibits

Wellington, New zealand
Review of Wellington (New Zealand) by
Ben_1907
Advantages: Great nightlife
Disadvantages: Not a lot to do during the day
I have been to Wellington twice once in 2005 and again in 2007. Wellington was not may favorite place in New Zealand, however as it is a city it has really good night life, with many bars, pubs, and restaurants. So if you need a good night out then Wellin ...

Capital views from a wonderfully windy city
Review of Wellington (New Zealand) by
Jim2003
Advantages: Truly spectacular scenery and friendly people
Disadvantages: Southerly gale force winds and rain can occur unexpectedly.
I lived in Wellington for the first thirty years of my life, and although now residing in other parts of the world, I have always come back to refresh my memories of this ever changing city.
When I visited the Capital last Christmas, I was amazed at the ...

Disappointed with luxury in New Zealand
Review of Duxton Hotel, Wellington by
honey000
Advantages: Location
Disadvantages: Rude staff, tired decor, poor value for money.
I stayed at the Duxton Hotel in Wellington in February this year following the wedding reception of my sister in law. The reception was held in the hotel so we decided that it would be far easier to stay over afterwards.
The hotel is located on the se ...

Eagle eye views of the prettiest capital city
Review of Mount Victoria, Wellington by
heathertastic77
Advantages: unbeatable panoramic views of the capital
Disadvantages: bit of a climb if you walk up
Whilst in Wellington, I had the lucky fortune to actually live on the side of Mt. Victoria. As a country that values its high seismic activity as an asset, it is not surprising that even the capital city makes way for a number of hills, the most prominent ...

The Museum
Review of Te Papa Tongarewa (Museum of New Zealand), Wellington by
13283
Advantages: Lots to see and do, brilliant garden to explore outside. Plan for two half day visits to get most out of it. And its FREE.
Disadvantages: On 2nd floor have to pay to 'experience' rides. Maori folk tale rather than scientific facts.
Had a Lord of the Rings expo on at the same time - informative, however, ends on April 20th 2006, worth a visit if it tours around.
The rides which can be experienced on the second floor are to go with;
Past
Future
Not scientifically based, however, ...

Family day out at Wellington Zoo
Review of Wellington Zoo, Wellington by
Writing321
Advantages: Well planned for families
Disadvantages: On a hill so be fit
Set on a hill overlooking Wellington's suburbs is an ideal home for a wide range of animals, birds, fish and even the shy, flightless kiwi, the nation's treasured, nocturnal bird.
There's an obvious focus on providing a natural environment for the ani ...

A Wellingtonian's view
Review of Wellington (New Zealand) by
ballpointpencil
Advantages: beautiful cultured city
Disadvantages: a little small, and yes. it is windy.
Ok, this is probably going to be a biased review. I was born in Wellington. I've lived there a while. Plus I went to university there. And so, I kinda know the place well.
It is small. It is beautiful. Though for personal reasons I'm not sure if I could ...
