Despite your reservations about the film, do give the soundtrack cd a good listen. I think it's amazing! by mikemelmak
Well reviewed. I've not seen it for many years, but thought it great fun at the time. May have dated over time, or seem less out of the ordinary because others have copied elements of it since. by torr

Mikkelsen's Performance Saved This Modern Western
Review of The Salvation (DVD) by gothic_moon

Advantages: Brilliant performance from Mikkelsen, well produced with atmosphere
Disadvantages: A bit quiet perhaps, a tad predictable, not always as engaging as it could have been

The Salvation falls within the Western / drama genres and was directed, and in part written, by Kristian Levring. Levring isn't one I've come across before but he's worked on a couple of other Danish productions. His profile pic on IMDB is rather odd; his ... Read review

“McCabe and Mrs. Miller” is a Western film. But I would like to categorize it as a full-on drama. Western genre is famous for its action, gun-fights and cowboys, and neither of them happens in an amount that we call it a Western. This is a story of two no ... Read review
