Chocolate Slab Cake
Recipe of katyeverett in Recipes for Cakes and Biscuits

Advantages: Delicious taste, quite easy to make.
Disadvantages: Not very good for your waistline, or your wallet!

This is my recipe for a chocolate slab cake which I have made a few times recently and always seems to go down a treat. Ingredients Required: For cake: 200g butter, plus extra for greasing 100g dark chocolate, broken up in to pieces 75ml tap water 350g plain floud 2 teaspoons of baking powder 250g soft light brown sugar 75ml soured cream 2 eggs, beaten For Icing: 200g dark chocolate, broken up in to pieces 6 tablespoons of tap water 3 tablespoons ...
...To make the cake: Preheat the oven to 190 degrees/gas mark 5. Grease a 33x20cm (13x8inch) cake tin and line the bottom of the tin with baking paper. I grease my tin with butter and use greaseproof paper for lining the tray. Melt the 200g of butter, 100g dark chocolate with the 75ml of tap water in a saucepan over a low heat (I use the lowest setting on the gas ring), stirring frequently. Sift the 350g plain flour and the 2 teaspoons of baking powder ... Read recipe

Snacks - Dip, dip and more dip!
Recipe of sweetpeas01 in Recipes for Snacks

Advantages: Quick and easy to make
Disadvantages: Not all ingredients available everywhere!

I tend to be a constant grazer, at work I tend to graze on fruit or vegetable sticks (how exciting!!) and then by the time I get to work I just fancy something tasty and filling! I go through phases, for weeks and weeks I will snack on the same thing over and over, then I will suddenly go off it and won't eat it for months! At the moment I'm into chips and dip! Or pitta bread and dip! I've got to say I quite like the new range of dips which supermarkets ...
...bringing out new varieties. However my mother makes fantastic homemade dips, generally when she is holding a party. So I have stolen her recipe bible and now I create them alot! They are easy to refigerate and eat as and when! I'm listing four of my favourite dips/ snacks as I think they are great and suitable for all tastes! Cream Cheese & Garlic Dip With Pita Toasts Recipe Ingredients: 8 oz low-calorie cream cheese 2 tbsp low calorie mayonnaise ... Read recipe

I'm in a bit of a scramble.
Recipe of dynamicnurse in Quick and Easy Recipes

Advantages: See text.
Disadvantages: See text

...recipes that is not only quick or easy to do, but is also cheap and somewhat healthy. It is scrambled eggs on either toast or waffles (or whatsoever it is that you enjoy), as it seems to give me a lot of energy just before I am due to go in to work. I have never ever written a recipe down before, so do please bear with me. What you need before you start: First off, decide what it is that you are going to have them on! As I said, I enjoy either toast ...
...other. Eggs - I usually tend to do three per person, and even then it never quite seemsm to be enough! A saucepan, preferably a non-stick one. Milk, but only about 20-30 mls at the most - if not less! An oven top. A fork or other such whisk-like implement. A wooden spoon. How to do it: Initially, light the oven top so that it is nice and warm and ready for when you start to cook. At the same time, look at what it is that you are putting the eggs ... Read recipe
