I am sure that youhave all heard that breakfast is the most important meal of the day.
This is true and even more so if you are trying to lose weight or maintain a healthy life style.Skipping breakfast can mean your body will start to crave something sweet and you'll end up snacking on unhealthy foods.
If you start the day with a healthy and nutritious meal you will feel full until lunchtime with no temptation to snack your way through the morning.
Here are a couple of my low fat recipes that are all free on the No Count/Core/Simplt Filling WW plan but are ideal for anyoine wanting a healthy diet.
WEETABIX BIRCHER
Serves 1
This is a dish that needs to be prepared the night before, so that it is ready for you in the morning, it is a simple, filling, nutritious breakfast that keeps you full until lunch time and is very tasty in the bargain.
2 Weetabix (or Oatabix) 100g frozen forest fruits or summer fruits 1 Mullerlite yoghurt, your choice of flavour
Put the Weetabix in a bowl and top with the frozen fruits. Pour the yoghurt on top. Store in the fridge overnight
SEMOLINA PANCAKES
4 oz semolina 1 egg Skimmed milk (to required thickness) sweetener (vanilla to taste-- optional)
Add egg to semolina and mix. Gradually add milk until you get to the required thickness (i.e. thick pancakes or runnier for thin, crepe like pancakes) Add sweetener. Fry in spray. Makes 4 thick pancakes
SPANISH OMELETTE
Serves 2
3 eggs 3 fl oz skimmed milk 2 oz wafer thin ham, sliced a few small cooked potatoes 4 oz mushrooms 2 tomatoes, cut into wedges Fry Light salt & pepper
Beat eggs and milk together, season. Spray a large frying pan with fry light, fry potatoes and mushrooms, and pour in egg mixture mix with a fork. Add tomatoes and ham, cook until bottom is set, put pan under grill and cook until set.
