As it is New Years Eve tomorrow I thought I would share with you a selection of cocktails that you may like to try. These are drinks that you can try all year round and not just for New Years Eve.

Surfrider

75ml/2 ½ fl oz vodka
45ml/1 ½ fl oz Vermouth
Juice of an orange
A squeeze of a lime
1 teaspoon of Grenadine
Ice

Pour all the ingredients in to a shaker, shake and strain in to a glass. Garnish if you want to.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Black Hawk

75ml/2 ½ fl oz whisky
30ml/1 fl oz sloe gin
Ice

Mix the whisky, sloe gin and ice together in a mixing glass. Then strain in to the serving glass.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Cuba Libre

75ml/2 ½ fl oz rum
150ml/5 fl oz cola
Juice of a ¼ lemon
Juice of a ¼ lime
Ice

Pour the rum and fruit juices in to the ice filled glass, and stir well. Top off with the cola and garnish if you want to.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Now here are some drinks that contain no alcohol.

Lime Soda

30ml/1 fl oz lime juice
30ml/1 fl oz squeezed lemon juice
125ml/4 fl oz lemon-lime fizzy drink
Ice

Pour the lime and lemon juices in to a glass half filled with ice, stir and top off with the lemon-lime drink.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Pomme Noir

90ml/3 fl oz apple juice
90ml/3 fl oz cola
Ice

Half fill the glass with ice and pour over the apple juice and cola. Stir and garnish if you want to.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Choc N Mint Coolie

45ml/1 ½ fl oz chocolate syrup
140ml/4 ½ fl oz chilled milk
1 scoop of mint ice cream

Blend all the ingredients in a blender and pour in to the serving glass. Dust some chocolate powder on the surface of the drink.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

I hope you liked these drinks as they are all really easy to make and do not take long either. My favourites are the alcoholic one's but the one's without alcohol are just as nice as well.

Happy New Year Everyone.

I would never have thought of trying coke and apple juice together, but it does sound rather interesting. Next time I have apple juice in the house, I think I might just have a go.
