Recently I have had a few weeks off due to GCSE's and having turned 16 in the past half year the world of parties, alcohol and loud music has sprung its boisterous, in your face lifestyle on my young innocent mind- Yeah right I expect some of you who know me are thinking.
But anyway, having experimented with numerous ingredients most of a weekend at a friends I have devised a few cocktails that we either tried or made ourselves, a few that we named ourselves may already exist its just that when we made them we made it up without a recipe so we gave it a name.
If you know what a particular mixture is called then please message me or mention it in the comments and I'll put it alongside our name for it.
Right lets get drinking!!!!
********************************************* General Tips, Tricks and Info *********************************************
To our dismay we ran out of ice midway through Saturday it's a very good idea if you are having a party to have a large stash of ice (an ice cube tray per person should ok
if the party isn't going to be too big otherwise a bag of ice would be a good choice to make. It is best to decide beforehand what cocktails you want to offer a selection of 3 Is probably best as the variety of ingredients required for a large array of cocktails is overwhelming.
In the following recipes and in all others 1 Oz of a drink = 25ml. ( 2 Oz 50ml etc )
1 Oz Archers peach schnapps 1 Oz vodka 3 Oz cranberry juice
Method:
Put a reasonable amount of ice in a highball glass (a normal tall thin glass would suffice) the name (PICTURE 1). The amount of Ice will be very dependant on how large your supply is but typically 6-8 cubes should do or 3-4 large cocktail ice cubes. Add the Archers and vodka and stir. Then add fill up with cranberry juice (if you did not put in much ice you should not fill the glass as this will make the cocktail weaker.
Pros and cons + taste:
It is a pleasant tasting cocktail that isn't too heavy on the throat or tastes. It's very summery and by quadrupling all the ingredients you can make a good pitcher for out in the garden over summer. It does however lack the strength and the kick that many cocktail drinkers enjoy
2 oz whiskey (preferably Irish) - Baileys can be used in place of the whiskey 1 tsp brown sugar 8 oz hot coffee heavy cream
Method:
Combine whiskey, sugar and coffee in a glass mug (i.e. latte glass) A typical mug would suffice and stir. (PICTURE 2) Then float cold cream gently on top… Serve IMPORTANT -… 1. Do not mix as this can infuse the cream and coffee too much and ruin the taste. 2. The sugar is essential as this makes the cream float on top.
Pros, Cons and Taste
It's a deep full flavour, has a very warming taste perfect for a winters evening. Its strong taste of whiskey may put some people off.
3 oz Bailey's Irish cream 3 oz Dr. Pepper 4 oz milk
Method:
Mix all the ingredients in a cocktail mixer (a separate glass will do) filled with ice. Stir and then strain into a chilled glass with no ice.
Pros, Cons and Taste:
It can taste very rich additions can be made in the form of things like vanilla, when mixed well it tastes similar to melting ice cream especially when the vanilla is added.
************************ Cocktail 4 - The TVR ************************
The name stems from the ingredients but also fro the car manufacturer TVR
Ingredients:
2 Oz Tequila 2 Oz Vodka ˝ Can Red Bull
Method:
Pour all ingredients into a tall glass filled with ice, stir well and serve.
A pitcher can be made by using: 7 Oz tequila 7 Oz Vodka 2 cans Red bull
Pros, Cons and Tastes:
Great for parties, It has a sharp, kick which we found on the first sip reminded us of the taste of feet, however your tastes instantly acclimatise to it, on the 2nd taste the fantastic flavours compliment to form a stunning cocktail. The Red Bull is great for keeping you in the party and overall this strong cocktail is our favourite.
