    Advantages Advantages My Set Lunchtime Menu (Aside From the Duck Salad), My 50th Review

    Disadvantages Disadvantages No Vegetarian Option

    Welcome to my 50th review. Having had this discussion with a few of the Ciao members I am lucky to call online friends, I have decided to make good the claim that I can actually cook *grin* So, the review below is what I would have on my reasonably priced lunchtime menu, should I choose to run a restaurant one day. I believe that the whole menu is perfectly reasonably priced at £24 per diner, and for 3 courses, is in the same league as Gordon Ramsay or Rick Stein. Now, that's not saying that the standard of the cooking is as good, but it is certainly passable and The Blonde does rave about it ... more

    After my last couple of heavy going reviews I thought I might treat you to another installment of Clinton's Cuisine…… Today is last night's tea …….Squabble and Eek….. Shelle and I first made this a couple of years ago whilst holidaying in the lap of luxury…ala Clinton (Cara) van. It was throwing it down (as per usual) and there actually seemed to be a lake outside the caravan door. It was Shelle's turn to go to the shops for provisions, but as she is somewhat vertically challenged she was a little scared of drowning in said 4" lake. So we decided to use what we had in the fridge……… ... more

    Advantages Advantages Quick ,Easy, Versatile, Cheap ( depending on the filling!)

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Temptation to eat too many!

    PANCAKE DAY - 24th February 2009 Pancake Day approaches and it is usually a day for which I am totally unprepared because it's a moveable feast. This year I am shopping early! Most will know this is the secular title for Christianity's Shrove Tuesday, the eve of the beginning of Lent, the forty days of abstinence when Christians fast in preparation for Easter although many these days just give up an indulgence or two! The original idea of pancakes was to use up all sorts of food before the period of fasting. But pancakes are good quick and easy at any time of year and very versatile. Most ... more

    Advantages Advantages really tasty, tried & tested for veggies and meat-eaters alike, easy-to-find ingredients

    Disadvantages Disadvantages VERY HOT, if you don't like spicy food this really won't be for you!

    Since becoming a vegetarian, my repertoire of fresh meals that work well with veggies alone or quorn pieces and mince has been sadly halved and due to intense boredom (and the current scare over ready meals and processed food) I have been scouring recipe sites looking for new things to try. I found out three interesting things on my quest. One, with Mexican and Indian full-flavoured cookery being my favourite, only spicy dishes sound remotely interesting to me. Two, recipes that list copious amounts of unheard-of ingredients that I have never seen on the shelves at Sainsbury’s really bug me ... more

    Advantages Advantages Theyre as easy as pie to make !

    ~~~ Dedicated to the one and only Patriciat ~~~ During the past week I have read one or two ops on these so called 'authentic ' Indian ready meals and boy have they made me feel mad ( thats the ops not the authors ) !! My bugbear ? Well theres nothing authentic about them at all. Take madras or Rogan Josh for instance, look closely at the ingredients of these two in particular next time your at the supermarket and what will you see listed ...........coconut in some shape or form. Well let me tell you something. Coconut is not used in Madras or Rogan Josh and nor is it used in Vindaloo, Phal ... more
