Job Centre fiasco

Advantages: None
Disadvantages: Too many to mention

...redundant the thought of the Job Centre plus being helpful no longer exists. As a mortgage holder and family with two school age children my husband was only entitled to Job Seeks Allowance (JSA). This was paid for 26 weeks and then after still not successful in securing employment, this was stopped. Because I work more than 20 hours a week (I am still only part time) I am expected to support the family and bills. My husband has never been asked ...
...it does exist. The Job Centre is very heavily manned by security guards and most of the staff are in-equipped with the knowledge required to help those genuinely looking for work. Although no longer receiving JSA, National Insurance Contributions are paid on your behalf as long as you sign on every two weeks at a time specified by the centre. During these appointments, you must prove that you have been actively looking for work by showing them ...

Hate this agency

Advantages: No Advantages really i guess a agency with jobs for you
Disadvantages: Never reply

Adecco My Experience Well another agency company on the block, but in my opinion Adecco are the most ignorant agency out there.Last year i was in the need of a job i sent my CV to every agency but i noticed that Adecco was the only one who had jobs available. I would see their adverts outside always and i would think i am the right person why do they never reply or ring and i would see them on the job centre site daily advertising jobs.I have sent ...
...a single reply not even a confirmation that your application is not suitable. I find Adecco to be the worst agency out there and its not about my CV i had all the relevant skills for the jobs i applied for its just the damn company. All agencies love taking your CV's and atleast giving you the deceny to reply Adecco has never done that to me maybe its the Adecco in my town but i honestly feel deep down Adecco is a waste of time. I think Adecco ...

More hassle than it is worth - Will harass your references!

Advantages: Large company
Disadvantages: Slow, Hassle, Lie, No communication, Low Pay

...work, so my friend recommended Brook Street. Personally, my experience has put my future into the red as well. --REGISTRATION-- -The usual - Typing tests (on computers that are slow and ancient) and normal shortcuts that don't work, so the outcome is questionable and not a true reflection on your ability with Microsoft Word or Excel, which is pretty basic. -Fill in forms -Cursory chat with a consultant (who is not actually listening!) and who ...
...up this so-called job at Brook for the next 2 weeks - sending my phonebill sky high! Who then fob me off, saying, "It's yours, just wait for a bit." -Waiting, waiting, waiting for 4 weeks - Nothing! -Then sign up with other agencies, and they ring about another job, so I turn down 3 jobs in the meantime! --THE JOB-- -Late one evening, I get a call about a job - I accept. -They say they need references, and Criminal checks, for bank work for the ...

Review of Brook Street - Recruiment Agency

Not the seriousness I was expecting !

Advantages: None
Disadvantages: Tell you to come for nothing, unprofessional, arrogant.

...have received a call from Kelly Services to set up an appointment in Hammersmith (London). According to the lady on the phone, there was a great opportunity for me and they were urging me to come. When I have arrived on the spot, I was greeted by an employee who explains me the procedure, underlying with too much emphasis how they were processing applications. Then, we talked about my work history and so on. Last but not least, she told me she ...
...called me telling me that the company has surprisingly enough stopped recruiting people. At this stage, I have understood she had just not put me forward for the position but she did not want to tell me. She asked me then, do you want we to put you forward for the second round in August 2008 ? When I have replied :"Yes",she seemed astonished me still to be looking for a position at that time. Since that time, I have never heard of them . Finally, ...

No help, whatsoever.

Advantages: Wide variety of jobs to look at.
Disadvantages: You won't be getting any of these jobs.

I have applied for over 100 jobs these last few months with reed.co.uk, most of which I could do with my eyes closed and have more than enough apt qualifications to suit the job. Yet I have had nothing but rejections. Daily they send me boastful emails claiming they have 90,000 vacancies or whatever but who's filling these, I do not know. My friends with similar, if not more qualifications and experience who have also signed up to reed are in the ...
