Advantages: Can be transformed, giving another level to the toy. Disadvantages: A couple of small parts.
My son is only three, but seemingly quite advanced for his age. I'm not sure whether it is because he has an older sister or the fact that he is in a rush to grow up, either way he seems to be interested in slightly older toys and things then I would expect a lad of his age to be.
One of these things happens to be something my sister liked when she was ten? this being the Power Rangers, the red one in particular!
This being the case, my mum purchased every Power Rangers piece of merchandise she could find, well that's how it felt on Christmas morning anyway!
The toy I will now review is - "Red hovertek cycle with Power Ranger".
The packaging for these sort of toys is pretty standard, there is the obligatory very rigid cardboard box, and trust me these beggar belief, they seem almost impossible to open, with the toy within ...
Advantages: Great acting Disadvantages: Ptetentious at times
After thirty-odd years of silence, Terrence Malick returned to make his third film, "The Thin RedLine". Based upon the novel of the same name by James Jones, it is a harrowing tale of a US Army platoons attempts to capture the island of Guadalcanal from the Japanese.
This was a pivotal point of the Second World War; yet this film ignores the history and politics of the event, and opts to focus upon the human emotion.
The film’s structure is simple, and nothing extraordinary happens, yet this is nothing short of a masterpiece. The photography is incredibly beautiful, with profound imagery of nature within the heart of war. At one point, a lone blue butterfly drifts passed the camera as the ground erupts in a shower of mud and human bodies.
The performances are fault less, as one would expect from such a vast selection ...
Advantages: Only to the survivors Disadvantages: To the Zulus
, the film is exciting and full of blood and
guts with some really bloody fight sequences. The scenery is
as marvellous as you would expect from the African bush and
the red tunics of the Welsh Borderers stand out like sore
thumbs to make a good target for Zulu spears.
One of the most awe inspiring sequences was not visual.
Hearing the sound of the masses of Zulus banging their cow
hide shields with their spears in a relentless rhythm would
chill the blood in my veins.
After seeing the film umpteen times, usually at Xmas, the
story gets boring but those drumming spears still get to me.
"Don't throw those bloody spears at me" is attributed to
Michael Cain speaking in his Harry Palmer voice but he never
said it. ...
