Walkers is a British snack food manufacturer that operates mainly in the United Kingdom and is best known for manufacture of crisps. Red Sky is Walkers' new premium crisp brand. The one I’m writing about is Walkers Red Sky West Country Bacon and Cream Cheese.

The Packaging:

Red Sky West Country Bacon and Cream Cheese comes in a foil bag that looks very appealing. The brand name of Red Sky is written in black and overlays on sunset looking sky. The product flavour of West Country Bacon and Cream Cheese is written in smaller black and displayed under the logo. Along with packet quantity and other product discription(100% natural ingredients) a small nutrition breakdown is on the bottom of the bag too.

On the back of the bag, you will find more details about Red Sky products, West Country Bacon and Cream Cheese crisps ingredients and nutrition information.

The Crisps:

The crisps are kept fresh in the bag. They are in various sizes, but all are quite thick. Different from most crisps produced by Walkers the crisps are golden with a tinge of red.

Ingredients:

Red Sky West Country Bacon and Cream Cheese ingredients include British potatoes, natural sunflower oil, sea salt, natural flovouring, dried cream cheese, dried yoghurt, milk whey powder, cane sugar, colour(paprika extract). It’s suitalbe for coeliacs.
Nutrition:

Each 40g serving contains 183 calories, 0.9g sugar, 8.4g fat, 0.7g Saturates and 0.5g salt. That provides 768 kj energy that is roughly ten percents of a daily amount for adults. One 150g pack contains approximately 4 servings.

Availability and Price:

In the UK the 150g pcak can be found at most supermarkets including Sainsbury’s, Tesco, ASDA, Morrison’s just to name a few. The prices vary little and are around £1.50. As a guide the current price at Sainsbury’s is £2.50 for 2 bags. The 40g format is availbe in some pubs too.

My opinion:

I love crisps, particularly those made by Walkers. However I didn’t know Red Sky is one of Walkers brands until I started to write a review about Red Sky West Country Bacon and Cream Cheese. Before I tried Red Sky Anglesey Sea Salt Potato Chips and I was really impressed. So I had a high expectation on Red Sky West Country Bacon and Cream Cheese.

On opening the appealing bag I saw the crisps colour. It has a tinge of paprika extract that just makes my mouth water. I thought it would be a little spicy. Tasting is believing. It does not taste spicy at all. I can not taste any artificial either. These crisps are amazing. They are very crunchy and have a lovely strong taste of the Country Bacon flavour. However I hardly taste the cream cheese flavour. Also due the storng taste of bacon flavour I think Red Sky West Country Bacon and Cream Cheese is better to come along with beer or wine.

I compared Red Sky West Country Bacon and Cream Cheese with Phileas Fogg Sea Salt & Indonesian Black Peppercorn Flavour Crisps due my curiosity. I found Red Sky has less fat, Saturates and salt than Phileas Fogg.
