Advantages: Very easy to read, in-depth without being over-technical (ie. you can understand it!), and not focused on >ahem< breasts as much as other mags Disadvantages: Suprisingly hard to find. Occasionally lacks decent cars.

All you have to do is look around on a street. See the Subaru with a customized bonnet? Modified. See the car that seems to be scraping the floor? Modified. See the car with the black tints on the window? Modified.
There are three main magazines that keep the world informed and enlightened about car modding. They are Max Power, probably the most well known of the three, Fast Car, which is slightly strange and I do not like very much, and Redline, a simple, easy-to-read mag, which despite being easier on the eye is somewhat less popular than the others.
First impressions are very good, with a large picture of the main featured car on the cover. The price, £4.25, is expensive for a magazine but cheaper than Max or Fast Car. -Upfront News and information regarding the car mod world. Decent place to read, although most stories seem to revolve around speed cameras.
-Redletters Letters, emails, jokes, pictures, and recently texts from the public. A good place to read and have a laugh, and also very infomative.
-Crashes Pictures of crashes from readers. Good to read and laugh at other peoples misery. Well, if you like that kind of thing anyway.
-Redhot New products, many of which are exclusive to Redline. Sectioned off into chapters, it is easy to read and features pictures of products such as alloys, bumpers, spoilers, and tuning parts.
-Answers Similar to Redletters, except focused on answering questions about cars and the like. Very in depth and informative
-Redpages A very large section of the mag. Basically devoted to adverts, this has a recently chaptered catalogue of adverts. The outstanding part of this is a massive chunk of pages used to sell modified cars for suprisingly cheap prices. They even sell feature cars!
These are only a few of the features. The writers also include a diary style guide to their own cars, along with pics and information on what has been changed since the last issue. Also, there is a different model each month, plus a "Bodywork Babe", which is basically the dosage of naked laydeez that is expected from most car magazines.
The staff also goes to cruises, which for those who don't know is when loads of modded cars come together and basically compare against the competition. The coverage is good, and any major cruises or car shows are given massive articles.
As far as a once-a-month magazine goes, this is a top notch purchase. Packed with information yet simple to read, and not totally circulated around women, I recommend this to anyone who is interested in cars. The price is fair, the content quality is fantastic, and the cars are brilliant. Go for it.
Advantages: Grown up, not all about the boobs, good cars, good writing team. Disadvantages: None I can think of at this minute.

Redline is published by The Future Network, a company which I have always had a lot of time for, they have a history of publishing great magazines. They also have none of the problems that EMAP publications have about giving the biggest advertisers the best reviews. You can trust their opinion, and that is something I always find to be a major part of buying a magazine.
The quality of the writing is superb. Informative, experienced, ... ...offer a honest opinion. Redline always seem to get a good mix of products too, so there is something for everyone to read.
The Redline crew are also actively out there, visitng shows and cruises each and every month and returning to Bath to write about them very quickly. They are never out of date, or late in bringing you the show coverage, and their cruise coverage is second to none in my opinion. They aren't all about who has the largest breasts, ...

This is another mag about cars and tuning in the same vein as Fastcar and Max Power. It has all the same features but with unknown models gracing their pages. There is sometimes something worth reading but my advice would be is to scan through before you pay so you dont waste you money. It is worth buying if you you dont get Max.. or Fast.. but why would you not buy these cos they are actually a lot better. It is improving as a mag and with time ...

this is very much a downmarket version of MAX power but this time with unknown porn stars. I only buy it if there is something free on the cover or maybe when there is a parts catologue. Its very much the same. I sometimes wonder where they get all the feature cars from I never see any on the road or maybe when Ive lost them at the lights its a feature car thats the blur in my rear veiw mirror. The help and advice section is alot more friendlier ...

Advantages: Vtec very responsive, sounds amazing and is bullet proof, 4 doors very versatile, economical. Disadvantages: NONE, its a HONDA
I own the 4 door saloon version of this car and must say that this is the best car i ever owned, I have previously owned BMW, golf, Audi, Toyota, Ford....etc. This Car is one of the most under rated out there, the vtec engine in this produces a massive 160 bhp as standard from a tiny 1.6 litre engine!!!!!!!!!!! and there is no turbo or supercharger!!!!!!!!!!!redlines at 8200 rpm, 0-60 in just 8 seconds, which is incredible.
It still returns 30 mpg so very economical considering its a performance car.Mine has 4 doors, a decent sized boot, a/c, sunroof, disc brakes all round, ABS. power steering, Fully electric and best of all its a HONDA, completely bullet proof. It looks good and sticks to road like glue, The car is very well built and not prone to rust, i absolutely love it and also the fact that its very rare, makes it a real eye ...

Advantages: Performance, Price, Handling, Practicality Disadvantages: Engine needs to be worked to get performance, lack of gadgets
steering wheel, red carpets, and tinted privacy glass to the rear hatch and two rear windows. Not forgetting a small 30th Anniversary decal on the rear window below the wiper arm.
After ordering my car, I was told January 2003 for delivery, this then became February shortly followed by March the 3rd when my car was actually delivered.
To say these vehicles are quick is a slight understatement, especially when you consider other manufacturers have to stick a turbo on their cars to reach anywhere near the hallowed 200bhp figure. The engine redlines at a manic 8000rpm, which can be slightly unnerving when you hear it for the first time. I can only liken the noise to a hybrid of sports motorbike meets formula 1 car. Quite scary considering the car's is equally at home in Asda carpark and doing the school run.
0-60 figures don't do this ...
Advantages: Grippy, Good Looks, Easy to Drive, Tonnes of Fun Disadvantages: Comfort
, the CTR is also a gentle and user friednly car to use around town. A light clutch and good visibility allow for relaxing journeys [relatively speaking] but you can never get away from the fact that this car wants to be driven all the way to its redline at c. 8,000 - 8,.250 RPM.
The new CTR has an awesome blue print to work from and I imagine it is just as good as it's predecessor. I hope it doesnt lose its rawness. The old CTR is what a terrific hot hatch should be, no electronic gizmos just good old fashioned superb engineering. ...
