You may think you don't need one of these, you may well be right of course. I thought so too, and having messed about in my garage for hours, using bits of copper pipe & Jubilee clips, I finally decided to get the proper kit.
The Hose Mender itself is nothing special, it is simply a means of attaching one end of a hose pipe to another, in a short length. It does this very well, and although I have forgotten the price, it can't have been much more than a couple of Pounds.
It was easy to do the job. and I have no regrets either, it is just a plastic fitting, nothing more, nothing less, and it is there to do a job, and it does that job very well indeed. You will see cheap and usually very nasty versions of these fittings around, but at this price you may as well go for the Rehau. You will then know that the hose is as good as when it was new, plus when you finally do scrap the hose, you can always keep the fittings for next time.
