This review is on the humble garden sprinkler, although, you would be hard pressed to do without one, and just because there seem to be millions on the market, quite a lot are cheap & nasty. This model though is pure quality, no frills, but good stuff. It is made by the Rehau Company, who have a good name in the irrigation department.
Size matters:- These fittings are measured by the bore, not outside diameter. In this case, it is half inch, or 12.5mm if you do these modern measurements. The number of holes, is 15 (yes I did have to go out and count them) The Weight is not worth mentioniong, apart from the fact that it feels solid, (OK I looked it up, it's 454 grammes) It does feel like it is good quality, but not too heavy to lug around the garden.
Price:- about £10 or so, perhaps cheaper on-line but allow for p&p.
Colour:- Yellow, nothing wrong with that but the 18 hole ones are green.
The fitting is advertised as being durable, and long lasting, I see no reason to think otherwise.
This sprinkler takes the standard "Hoselok" type fittings, which are far easier than the old Jubilee clips. It is self supporting, so does not require pinning down.
Tip:- Always drain & stow away for the winter, and these sprinklers will last you many years. They cover a fair section of lawn, although not 180 square meters as the adverts say. The area covered is of course square or slightly oblong, which is better than using a "normal" sort of rose giving a circular pattern. Your grass will benefit from this treatment, so why not treat yourself, I can thoroughly recommend it.
