Young babies spend much more than a third of their lives asleep and Relaxsan is the only Orthopaedic baby mattress your money can buy. The two are a match made in heaven! Not only is it exceptionally comfortable for your baby, it also has hypo-allergenic and anti dustmite properties. And, what other baby mattress comes with a 3 year warranty? All Relaxsan mattresses use the original Verflex core and comfort layers and only non-toxic materials have been used in the manufacturing process. Verflex is a combination of water-expanded polyurethane resin and two kinds of polymers. The first one gives the mattress an optimal firmness, increasing its orthopedic performance, while the polymers make it more resilient and long-lasting. Since it is made of micro-cells connected to one another, Verflex breathes naturally and is an extremely hygienic thermal material.
Advantages: 100% WASHABLE; 100% BREATHABLE; 100% ANTI ALERGENIC; 100% SAFER THAN OTHER BABY MATTRESSES Disadvantages: NONE
...My baby needed the safest mattress I could find - yet non of the mattresses I looked at offered me what I preceived as safe. Some were breathable, have you tried actually breating through them, very different from what I think is breathable. Anti alergy and dust mite repellant, no-one could convince me; hygeinic some were partly washable so some of the mattress would be clean; could I get a mattress with no chemical to make it fire retardant - no; could I use the mattress for my next baby and fell confident it was still OK - no I was told "new baby new mattress" why I asked, I found out the reason was that the mattresses over time build up all sorts of moulds and fungi as well as millions of house dust mites so I was ten expect to spend another £100 plus for my next baby.
That was until I found he PurFlo mattress! I can see...

Advantages: keeps baby close to you, easy to use, attractive Disadvantages: too big to fit through doorways
...on the top and bottom to protect it from young teeth). There is a foot operated pedal for using the dropside when you have it in the standard setting.
It is also very sturdy looking, doesn't wobble at all and weighs a ton (which is where those castors come in handy!).
The new design looks nicer in my opinion, with the top of the ends and stationary side being more fancy. But otherwise it looks identical.
Usability
---------
With a standard cot you would have it on the highest mattress setting at first so you don't have to lean over so far to pick up your baby, with the bedside cot you set the mattress to the height of your beds mattress. There are 18 settings in total, so you are bound to be able to set it to the right height (from 38 to 55cm off the floor). We found this easy to do, though assembly itself was slightly complicated...

Advantages: Extremely small, lightweight and easy to use Disadvantages: Nothing that can not be overcome easily
...- its only 27cm in diameter! Being the size of an average dinner plate when packed away it was so handy when our daughter was small (it is suitable from birth to when the child can sit up unaided, which was just over 8 months for our daughter). We could just sling it in her changing bag or over the pram handle and off we went!
When set up it measures 88 cm long by 54 cm wide, which is brilliant for a young baby as they often get upset in huge beds (or at least my daughter did), allowing the child to sleep comfortably. It comes with a soft , cotton covered mattress that just sits in the base allowing you to tuck in a standard crib/cot sheet to protect it; an integral zip-over mosquito net and loops in the top to hang your baby's favourite toy.
It is very simple to put up - the main body literally pops up, u just place the base...

No, not Homer Simpson, but Greek Homer, that wise old man. And when it comes for that time to sleep, it really should be in complete comfort, to take you away from the... more
