This is a variation of the energy drink marketed by the Coca-Cola Company in 500ml cans which first hit the market in February 2006: RELENTLESS ~ whose claim is:
* No Half Measures
* Energy
* Stamina
* Focus
* Drive
Relentless Juiced Energy makes the same claims.

Ordinary energy drinks usually taste disgusting.
I don't even think I am the only person who thinks this; many reviews of energy drinks, which I have read, have commented either on a metallic taste or a taste like B-vitamins ~ both of which taste disgusting ~ but they think that it is worth it to drink the drink for the benefit they receive. It CERTAINLY is difficult to imagine a drink containing Taurine, Guarana and four different B vitamins NOT having a metallic or B-Vitamin taste.
I found one that actually tastes delicious last month . . . unbelievable! Of course, that also makes it more dangerous, as well, as you are more likely to overdose on something that tastes good!

How did I first hear about Relentless? . . .
My son-in-law has done a lot of driving ~ he used to do deliveries for different companies, sometimes driving late hours (or very early hours) in order to be at the right place to do his deliveries. He was driving us back late from a big Church Meeting in Sheffield two years ago, pulled over into a petrol station and stopped outside the shop. He came back out with a can of Relentless in his hand. He opened the can (which had a reassuring fizzy pffttt) and drank it straight down before driving on. I naturally wanted to know what he was drinking, and why.
If he finds his attention wandering, or feels he is not as alert as he might want to be he buys himself a can of RELENTLESS at the nearest services. This is a high-caffeine drink (similar to RedBull, but in a can twice the size). At 99p - £1.59 per can, this is quite expensive, but he tells me it is worth it for the boost it gives him. It is much quicker-acting than a cup of coffee would be, and doesn't require waiting for the coffee to cool enough to drink it. As it contains B vitamins and herbal extracts of Taurine and Guarana, it not only keeps him awake but also gives him more focus and relieves stress, so he concentrates better.
Relentless ORIGIN (as they now call the original flavour) is an energy drink with 32mg caffeine per 100ml, with four added B Vitamins, plus Taurine and Guarana. It is similar to Red Bull (and other energy drinks), but costs the same amount for twice the volume. The taste was very much like the B vitamin supplements I had to take when I was pregnant, but with a metallic, synthetic aftertaste. The can is a metallic Brown with a paler etching-like (computer-generated?) drawing of the muscles and connections of a human head (as it might appear without the skin) underneath the Pseudo-Gothic RELENTLESS Calligraphy in white.
The company has marketed a second energy drink called INFERNO ~ similar to the original drink, with exactly the same nutritional information, but with 5% Orange Fruit from concentrate. This is a metallic Flame Red can, with the same Head etched this time in metallic Orange. This too tasted unpleasant and metallic when I had opportunity to try it. I wondered why they bothered. It certainly didn't remind me of fire INSIDE, despite a quote from Byron entitlled, "Endure Eternally."
In September 2008, I noticed Relentless was available at Boots as part of the Meal Deal and started buying it regularly.
But haven't you said before that you usually AVOID caffeine? . . .
Well, yes, as l have been sensitive to caffeine since overdosing while typing university theses, l avoid excessive use myself. But, as I know my son-in-law drinks Relentless, I have been getting him cans as part of my BOOTS Meal Deal, as you only pay £2.99 for the meal deal (or £3.49 if you are in London). As many sandwiches, wraps and salad meals cost up to £2.75/ £2.80, you are getting a snack (of up to £1.30 value) and your drink (any) for a lot less than the Original Relentless shelf-price (at BOOTS) of £1.49. I usually drink a litre of water, myself. As an Advantage Health Club member, a litre of BOOTS own brand water is only 47p, so getting him the Relentless has been a way of reducing HIS expenses and getting better value for my Meal Deal. I then give it to him when I see him, and we are both happy!
And what about the RELENTLESS JUICED ENERGY? . . .
My eye was caught by a metallic green, flowery can next to the brown Relentless one day late last month. Yes, the gothic Relentless was written in white up the side, but a black stripe with yellow letters said, "NEW 50% JUICE" around the top of the can (three times!). Instead of a silver top it was gold. Instead of the usual plain etching of a head, there were leaves and faint flowers. There was even a very realistic fly. Next to the brown can, this looked quite feminine. I picked up the two cans and compared them.
Instead of saying "Relentless is an Energy Drink That Helps Give You the Stamina, Focus and Drive You Need, When You Need It. Your Energy. No Half Measures." . . . it said, "Relentless Juiced Energy is an Orange & Tropical Fruit Energy Drink, With 50% Juice and 100% Energy." Then there was a stanza of a poem by Wordsworth, starting, "Morning Has Broken" ₪ (see below).
Despite (or because of?) the shelf price being £1.80 instead of the usual £1.49, I chose to include it in that day's 'Meal Deal' and to actually try it myself.
The trial . . .
Conscious of the high caffeine level, I decanted it into a bottle with a screw top so that I could drink it "in moderation" (a little at a time) and not overdose. It fizzed up as I poured carefully, and the popping bubbles were fruity and sharp against my nose as I sniffed.
The smell was hard to define. Guava? Mango? Apricot? Passion fruit? Certainly exotic fruit was there! A look at the ingredient list on the can confirmed those fruit purees from concentrates (7%) and orange juice (43%).
It tasted like a high-juice tropical juice drink. No after-taste; no synthetic vitamin taste. In fact, it was hard to resist finishing it off. It took a lot of will power to resist it, and discipline myself to only drinking a small amount.
I mused to myself, ". . . pity you cannot taste the caffeine!"
This was amazing! In every aspect of nutritional content, this was identical to the original; the difference is, as it contains 50% Fruit Juice, the fruit juice successfully masks any unpleasant taste, and makes it a much more natural product. It also contains no added colourings and much less actual added sugar as fruit juice contains fructose (a sugar) naturally.
Origin contains colours Caramel E150d and E104; lnferno contains colour Beta-carotine. All three varieties contain 230 Calories per 500ml can, and 160mg caffeine.
Availability and Price of Relentless Varieties? . . .
Boots: Origin £1.49; Juiced Energy £1.80; can be included in Meal Deal.
Co-op (Tettenhall, nr Wolverhampton): Origin £1.59; Inferno £1.59; Juiced Energy £1.75; in cooler.
Asda: Origin £1.09 (or 4-pack, £3.00); Inferno 96p; Juiced Energy £1.37 To compare, a 4-pack of 250ml Red Bull = £3.00 at Asda.
Recommendation? . . . with reservations . . .
If you want an energy drink that tastes like Tropical Fruit Juice but with all the impact of 2 x Red Bull or the Original Relentless Energy Drink, this will suit you.
For a more Feminine Energy Drink? This is it!
Remember to Drink it Responsibly! l drank most of another can (a little at a time) while writing this review, and was extremely 'grumpy' the next day . . .
Warnings:
Not suitable for children, pregnant women (or breastfeeding mothers), or those sensitive to caffeine due to high caffeine content.
Don't leave a poured glass where it might attract the unwary to try it.
Side effects of caffeine overdose can include dizziness, tachycardia (increased heart-rate), headache, flushing, changes in blood pressure, sleeplessness.
MORNING HAS BROKEN, And I have felt A presence that disturbs me with the joy Of elevated thoughts; a sense sublime Of something far more deeply interfused, Whose dwelling is the light of setting suns, And the round ocean and the living air, And the blue sky, and in the mind of man; A motion and a spirit, that impels.

THE AESTHETICS.
Personally, i thought it really looked very cool, almost rocker ish i think the colours work very well the idea of the product being a "Relentless" way to kill your tiredness. Also the type face i think is very nice and looks appropraite for the idea that is being sold or the idea that the advertisers are attempting to sell.
THE TASTE.
It tasted well frankly odd there was not one specific flavour that i can put my finger on, it ... ...i really was not sure if i actually enjoyed the product or not, i can really only say that the taste of the product was well...odd.
THE AFTER EFFECTS
I feel like i have not slept in like three days because of this, its SOO FULL of cafiene its ridiculous. its so unbelievably stupidly strong, excellent if your a student (as i am hence the use of the product) maybe im just sensitive to cafiene. i dont know. anyway I'd give it maybe 3 out of 5 so pretty ...

Relentless History
Relentless is a product made by the coca-cola industry, It was first introduced in the United Kingom in August 2006, With increasing variations, Relentless Inferno hit the market in August 2007 with its orange flavouring, and then in february 2008 JuicedEnergy which again is orange flavoured with a amount of tropical juice contained. Another addition to juicedenergy in early 09 was juicedenergy berry which in my oinion is the best flavoured one. Also the Relentless Motto, No Half Measures, is perhaps a cheap dig at red bulls Puny 250ml Can, as Relentless is the same price but double the size at 500ml.
Packaging
Well the packaging is eyecatching and it has a great colour usage it will attract many buyers. In my opinion it still doesnt look like an energy drink but even though that is the case it still looks ...
