Relentless is one of those energy drinks, that sits on the shelf and torments us as we pass with its fancy packaging and unhealthy goodness. I was introduced to it by a friend at work. I should first start off by saying I generally try to be a healthy person. Drinking these energy drinks constantly is not a good idea. I only save it for a special occasion, on a day where I couldnít sleep the night before (I suffer from random bouts of insomnia) or where im especially worn out, or simply as a vodka mixer (its brilliant with vodka!). I have never really found that energy drinks work, nothing Iíve tried before has worked, in all honesty. Tea, pro plus caffine tablets, coffee, red bull. Nothing. Relentless is where things changed. I find it really does work. On those days where im a walking zombie and am having trouble keeping my eyes open, a can of relentless always saves me. I prefer the Brown can, the original flavour, but the others are good too. One is 50% juice, and thus a little more healthy, but its not as nice. The taste is not too dissimilar to Red Bull, but itís more pleasant somehow, in ways I canít explain or describe.
One of the best factors is the size of the can. Usually priced at around the pound mark, its not cheap, but then what is these days? Yet its large. Double the normal can size and it makes Red Bull cans look pathetically miniscule. You get more juice for your pennies and thatís always a good thing. The nectar inside the can is sweet and sugary and im sure itís totally unhealthy, but you only live once and Iíd rather do it awake and alert than dead tired. Its amazing on long journeys or hard days at the office or on a night out (or in). It keeps you buzzing. The only problem I have found is if you drink too much it makes you feel a bit sick, but that could be the tiredness or just me. So I usually limit myself to 1 or 2 cans only, in a 24 hour period. Avoid drinking it regularly and keep it for emergencies.
Apparently coca-cola are the geniuses behind it, but I didnít know that. Its not blatantly obvious on the can, which has a swanky design with swirls and patterns and a striking poem (different on each variety). Relentless is trying to be cool and not just because itís best chilled out of the fridge (or with ice).
Itís a very good drink, is the obvious conclusion.
