Once I have straightened my hair it is very flat. Of course this is the look I am trying to achieve but sometimes you want a bit of body and bounce in your hair and so to achieve that I use a hot brush. Hair dressers have a lovely way of being able to give the hair body with the use of just a regular brush and a hairdryer but because I don't have hands behind my back I am not able to do this, this is where a hot brush comes in handy.

The Remington CB65 is a round brush with spiky bristles and ceramic plates which make up the barrel of the brush. Once plugged in these plates heat up evenly all across the brush so you have no spots where there is no heat which is nice. The heat goes to 180 degree C but because the bristles are in the way you do not need to worry about getting burnt hands whilst trying to use this product. There are two heat settings, low and high so you can decide what look you are going for before you start to use this. If I want really big bouncy hair I put it on high but for regular everyday hair with just a bit of volume I tend to use the low setting.

Like any hair tool you need a bit of practise to get used to it but once I got the hang of this brush it worked really well. Once I dry and straighten my hair I spray a bit of water onto my roots and then firstly pin the top bit back and get a section of hair underneath my head. I then lift it up and put the round brush underneath it. I twist it a bit to make sure I get a bit of volume and height out of that section of hair and then the nice thing about this brush is that it has a curl release button so instead of having to pull out the brush yourself and thus pretty much loose all the curl that you would with a regular brush this just rotates the barrel and releases the hair which leaves it lovely and bouncy. I then work this out a bit with my hand to stop it looking too bouncy and overdone!

I also like to use this brush on the end of my hair to curl it under and give it that, "just stepped out of a salon look." By the end of the day the curl underneath has pretty much gone but I do still have some volume left in my hair and it still looks like I have paid some attention to it which is nice.

The brush has a nice safety feature in that if it is not used for 60 minutes it will shut off automatically, a nice piece of mind if you can never remember if you unplugged them in the morning or not. I take mine on holiday as well where it is essential for my hair in the humidity to tame it down a bit and with a convertor plug it works with all voltage types. I think I paid about £20 for mine and have been pleased with the results so far.
