Remington CI 95

The curling wands have suddenly become a must have for most girls this year! Although to be honest I didn't even know they existed till I saw them in the shops when looking around for some decent curlers.
My sister has very long thick hair which doesn't curl easily at all, so buying this wand was an impulse buy when she 'had' to curl her hair for the dance show!

I shopped around for these curlers, I began looking online at the available wands and then comparing prices with the different stores and the different features the wands offered.
I bought this Remington pearl wand for £25 from Boots, although it was for sale for the same price in Argos and I also saw it available in Wilko's and other stores although prices varied a little.
I chose to buy the wand from Boots rather than from Argos for the advantage points I get with Boots.
I thought the price was quite decent and I definitely think they are worth what I paid.

Features; ....
The Remington pearl wand drew me in not only because of the price but also because of the various features.
With this wand, you can alter the temperature easily ranging from 130 to 210 at its highest and the temperature is shown as a digital display on the handle.
The set temperature is very easy to set by holding down the minus button for a few seconds, this locks the temperature avoiding you from accidentally altering the heat.
The pearl wand has an automatic safety shut off feature, which means if the wand isn't used for a certain amount of time it shuts down, avoiding possible house fires or damage!

The wand heats up very fast! There's no waiting around for the wand to 'get hot'. It is advertised on the box the wand takes 30 seconds to heat up.
With the wand, is a 3 metre long swivel cord! It is very long which makes it great for reaching various mirrors around the house.
The cord I find is heavy which means it doesn't flap around and get in the way, it lays neatly on the floor whilst on the other hand is easy to move around. The cord is also quite thick which helps to avoid those building up twists and turns in the cord.
The cord is attached with a swivel cord which is a necessity for curling wands as the wand will be turned and twisted, the cord needs to be able to freely turn with the wand avoiding knots and those horrid built up curls in the cord!

There is a cool tip on the end of the wand giving space for you to hold the wand at the tip whilst curling. The tip does stay cool and comes in very handy.
Although I still prefer to wear a glove on the hand I am using to place the hair around the wand, I find this especially important when first using the curlers and getting used to them as it's very easy to burn your fingers.
I find it easier to curl other people's hair than my own and find it a lot easier to burn my ears and hands when curling my own hair!
With the pearl wand comes a heat proof pouch. The pouch comes in a gorgeous bronze shimmery colour which goes nice with the design of the wand.

As the case is a heat proof pouch, it's safe to put the wand away straight after using... in theory!
Although I prefer to leave the wand out to cool down a little before putting it away.
The pouch has a drawer string fastening and easily holds the wand and the cord together in the bag.
There is a 5 year guarantee on the wand (Advertised on the box) and the wand is adapted for use in multi voltage countries making it safe to use abroad.

The wand; ....
On the wand is three buttons, a power button and two temperature control buttons.
The + and - buttons are easily identified as being the temperature buttons and are easy to use. The minus button is used to lock the buttons by simply holding it for a few seconds after selecting the temperature of your preference.
Although once the heat is set, it will stay even after the wand has been switched off and on.
There is a small digital screen showing the temperature above the control buttons and on the wand is a lovely design adding to the wands unique style.
The actual wand of the curlers has a shimmering 'pearl' effect to it, giving it it's lovely design and fitting perfectly with its name 'pearl'.
Not only does the wand have a 'pearl design' however, the wand is actually coated in pearl for a more ceramic content than standard coatings, making the barrel smoother, harder and longer lasting (as advertised on the box)

The wand holds a perfect shape, going from thick to thinner towards the end to give the perfect curls.
Having the right shaped wand gives more natural looking curls that hold longer and curl a lot nicer.

Holding the hair near the root and wrapping it around the wand, bringing the tip of the hair towards the tip of the wand and holding for a few seconds (depending on personal hair thickness/condition) gives the perfect style.
For longer hair, some people may need to curl from the roots to the middle and then from the middle to the end because although the wand is of a decent length, it won't cover all lengths.
Using the wand gives fantastic effects, whether you are curling the whole of the head of hair, or just adding a few waves/curls to various places, a little hair spray will keep the curls in all day!
I recommend using a decent hair spray if you want the curls to stay in all day.

Overall; ....
I would recommend this pearl wand to anybody wanting a decent curler. It's perfect for all hair types, even my sisters long thick hair!
As a first time curling wand, this Remington wand proved to be a great buy for me and I am very happy with it!
The price is fantastic for the outcome and I will continue to use my wand whenever needed!
