Advantages: Heat up very fast. Disadvantages: People assume they're not as good as GHD.
...The particular model that I am refering to in this review, are the Remington S1002 slim ceramic Teflon coated model. I originally bought these because they were only £35, assuming that they would just about do the job, as I really could not justify paying £100 for GHD straighteners. I thought that GHDs were just a craze, I must admit, it is a craze that has lasted, but I feel they have an unjustified high status.
After using these straighteners for the first time, Iknew that I had bought the right ones. Myhair is kind of frizzy, but also quite oily, (that's hairdresser talk for greasy!). I have always bought straighteners that included a steamer, to moisturise my hair, which always just made it more frizzy. I grew really fed up of this, and cut it off, myself, into a short bob. Advantages: heat up fast, glides smoothly, ceramic plus Teflon coated, durable, 3 year warranty, safety carry case included and Excellent VALUE for money Disadvantages: on/off switch can get switched off accidentally when holding
...Remington warranty left!
Value for money? Excellent where else can you get a guaranteed ceramic straightener that gives instant shiny straight hair, comes with a long cable and a heat protection storage bag for about £34?! Ok, there is one place where you can get this free*-if you collect Boots Advantage card points you will find this is a redeemable product, you need 3499 points (£34.99) to get this for free at Boots using your points. I happen to have collected a lot of points at Boots so I saved my points and bought this. Otherwise, its available at most High street shops like Argos etc at around £34 or less.
So, am I recommending this or what? Of course I am! to anyone looking for an easy to use ceramic hair straightener that gives instant long lasting results without the extortionate price tag of GHD's. Goodbye GHD - Hello Remington…...

It was a short time before Christmas 2007 when I got the phone call. The one I dread every year "you've got £25 to spend from your Gran." Why is that such a problem? Well it goes like this. Every year around 2 weeks before Christmas I am asked to... more
