I have been a user of the MK4 GHD for a month now and I have thoroughly enjoyed straightening my hair with this product. With it's sleek design and rounded barrels you can easily create curls, flicks and waves for your hair, and the GHD ceramic plates have even better temperature regulation, giving stunning straightness, smoothness and shine to die for
Advantages: * High Temperature - Alongside the ceramic plates, the new GHD's give you absolutely straight hair, making it smooth and shiny, what more could you ask for? The barrels protect you from burning hands, easy to use.Dependant on how straight you would like your hair, one stroke = slightly straighter, two strokes = very straight, three strokes = extremely straight/dead straight.
* Rounded barrels - This quality makes it extremely easy to create curls, flicks and waves. Two in one, straightener and curler. With this, you don't need to spend money on a curler because these GHD's all you could wish for. * Small and lightweight - I have come across allsorts of wide and heavy straighteners in my life and this one is fantastic. Its thin and compact like, no worries about the weight, and it can be easily stored. Not to forget, the cable is strong and secure!
Sleep mode automatically turns off - If you leave your straightener unattended for more than fifteen minutes, if will switch off for you! This makes it very easy for me, normally, with previous straighteners I worry about whether I remembered to switch my straightener off, this way I don't have to worry about burning my carpet!!
Multi voltage - this straightener can be used in international countries making it suitable to take abroad with you! Making your hair look special on the other side of the world.
*DVD for demonstration - This was very interesting to watch, it gives you tips, advice and different styles which can be your inspiration - displaying more than one style it gives you great ideas, teaches you how to straighten, curl and style your hair like the top stylists do! DISADVANTAGES
Expensive to some - I purchased mine for £120.00 however you can find some cheaper on a number of sites online. Although these straighteners are expensive, it sure did not stop me, with great honesty, they are well worth it!
Same design - The straighteners are of the same design as normal - not very different, like most GHD merchandise.
OVERALL, I have not had a problem with the straighteners at all and I wish I purchased these straighteners years ago, but they only get better right?

I got these straighteners with some christmas money at Boots and they are in excellent condition. They came with a 2 year guarantee, so I definatley know they are made to last. They leave my hair feeling silky smooth and straight without kinks, and I don't know what I'd do without them!
They heat up to 200 degrees in 60 seconds, which is great. It even comes with a heatproof mat which allows me to put them wherever I like, and it can even double ... ...about 5 mins to cool down aswell which is fab if you're in a rush. The ceramic plates are long which means that you can straighten even more hair at one time. Extra features include a 3m salon length swivel cable which is good if you want to stand in front of a mirror and the plug is far away. They are very lightweight and easy to hold, and there is an indication light to show when the straighteners are on or off.

Advantages: Fast heat up. Long cable. Heat proof matt included. Safe and user friendly. Disadvantages: Only one heat setting. No way to tell when 200degrees has been obtained.
...To conclude I would highly recommend these hair straighteners. They are an excellent product, especially for such a reasonable price. However if you are looking for something with more attachments, accessories or functions perhaps try a model such as Remington Digital Ceramic Straighteners but expect to pay more for them. ...

I paid £23.99 if i rememebr correctly which i thought was a good deal considering he more expensive types like GHD etc, I've since been told that they are available from Argos at a cheaper price!!!
The straighteners areI black with white/yellow Ceramic plates. The ceramic coating enables it to glide easier through your hair. It has a cable of 3 metres so you can actually use them in a ... ...lightweight and easy to use even for us novices....although i did burn my head on one or two occasions ha.
The only draw back for most people would be the fact thatthat there is no temperature control.
The first time i used them, i was surprised at how straight my hair was, applied alittle hair spray (gawd i cant believe i'm writing this on the net for all to see!!) and perfectly straight hair!!

They are reasonably priced good straightners.
They come in a good sized box with clear instructions and tips on how to manage your hair. They heat up quickly to a hight temperature +but sometimes the plastic on the side near the ceramic plates can get quite hot too. They are easy to use but are quite big so it is easy to burn yourself. You need to do each peice of hair a couple of times if you want it dead straight but they are quick to use.
On ... ...away and now you can see some of the silver metal. You need to clean the plates after each use if you use hair products as they can get very dirty and if you don't clean them they you will not be able to get them clean in the long run.
It leaves my hair feeling soft and not greasy.
It can be quite annoying that there is no on/off button. You can buy them from £20 to £40 ...

Ideally I would like the straighteners to come with a longer cable, as this would make it easier to reach in front of my mirror whilst I am standing up.
My best friend has the same pair and her plates are ruined from hair products, however I clean mine regularly with a damp cloth and I have not had this problem.
Even when my hair is dry the straighteners always sizzle really loudly and create a lot of steam. Even though steam is good as it hold the hair in place for longer, it does seem excessive...
