First of all...yup I am a man.....and yeah I will be mocked bocked but i dont care....in the words of Mr Paul Weller (The musician - nothin to o with Wellar hair products girls!! -sorry ;-) )
Having quite thick, and wavey hair when long, coupled with the fashion trnd of a mullet, i swallowed my pride and bought some hair straighteners. To be honest i didint know which ones to go for so i just opted for the reasonably priced Remington CS5001 from Boots.
I paid £23.99 if i rememebr correctly which i thought was a good deal considering he more expensive types like GHD etc, I've since been told that they are available from Argos at a cheaper price!!!
The straighteners areI black with white/yellow Ceramic plates. The ceramic coating enables it to glide easier through your hair. It has a cable of 3 metres so you can actually use them in a mirror far away from a plug.
They are lightweight and easy to use even for us novices....although i did burn my head on one or two occasions ha.
The only draw back for most people would be the fact thatthat there is no temperature control.
The first time i used them, i was surprised at how straight my hair was, applied alittle hair spray (gawd i cant believe i'm writing this on the net for all to see!!) and perfectly straight hair!!
I have used GHD's at a friends house (a girl in case you were wondering) and they were a whole lot better.
Just thought i'd give you all a guys view on a subject that i guess most guys would not dare write about!!
Advantages: Fast heat up. Long cable. Heat proof matt included. Safe and user friendly. Disadvantages: Only one heat setting. No way to tell when 200degrees has been obtained.
