Remington D 2850 Power 2000

Advantages: Gets hair straighter
Disadvantages: Doesn't get very hot

...power socket. (in the Argos catologue, 3m cables are advertised as 'salon length cables' - 3m is nearly double the length of this products cable.) The Remington CS2000 sort of does the job, but nothing like a salon-standard product. It comes down to the phrase 'you get what you pay for'. I don't regret buying them - I'd have been more annoyed at paying £50+ for something I couldn't get to grips with using. At least I know now that I will invest in a higher quality product in a year or two. The remington CS2000 is a reasonable starter product to learn the technique of straightening hair but its very basic and you could outgrow them quick and soon want another pair. Advantages: cheap, 60 second heat up, super smooth straight hair, lasts until you next wash your hair
Disadvantages: after regular use the ceramic comes off as they are not solid only coated

...I have straightened my hair since i was quite young first using those metal plate straighteners that you have to clamp down so hard and then try and overlap the line you left. they took about 15 mins to heat up and forever to use and the results were no different if you wanted to only get rid of frizz and kinks. so imagine when i found out about ghds i was ecstatic only to find out they cost about £65 at the cheapest. This was obviously a no-no. Then a good friend of mine introduced me to the remington power ceramic straighteners and they had just as good results. Eventually we started a bit of a cult in our year at school because they were such good value. I only straighten my hair once a week to minimise damamge but my one friend was straightening hers every day and also using them at school to straighten other peoples when we noticed... Read review

Advantages: heat up fast, glides smoothly, ceramic plus Teflon coated, durable, 3 year warranty, safety carry case included and Excellent VALUE for money
Disadvantages: on/off switch can get switched off accidentally when holding

...they are and they are very easy to hold. They come in a dull grey matt graphite finish and the ceramic plates inside are a dull gold colour. I'd say the plates are about 1¼ inches in width (or about 3cm) so they are not too wide to handle or style with and neither would I say they are too narrow to get anything done with. If you have masses of very thick, curly hair, you may be better off with Remington's wide straightener. Another astonishing thing you notice when you first go to use these straighteners is just how long the cable is, its very long! (3m) so you won't find yourself leaning and trying to stay as close as possible to power source when styling -you have ultimate freedom of movement.
