I am very much guilty of not looking after my feet properly so as a result i end up with dry hard skin on the bottom of them which makes them prone to cracking and quite frankly looks totally disgusting. So when my mum bought me the Remington aromatherapy foot spa ultimate as a gift i made myself a vow to use it on a regular basis to keep my feet nice and also as a way to help me relax after my son has been a total nightmare.

The cost of this foot spa at boots is £48.50 appearance wise the shape is the same as you average portable footspa, It has a pedicure section on top of the dividing part in the middle, this is basically a circular rotor that you put the attachments on, only one attachment can be placed on at a time, it is activated by pressing your foot on top of the attachment it will then rotate changing direction each time you take the pressure of and repress it.

In the sections that you place your feet there are two massage offering features the first is on the base which is a pad with lots of little massaging nodes, the second is a set of 6 magnetic rollers (3 for each side) that manually massage the feet.

At the control section at the fron top of the spa there is a circular dial with 5 positions and a set of 5 LED lights that indicate what features are currently operating.

It has a 5 position switch that offers the following treatments:
- Heat with pedicure
- Massage and heat with pedicure
- Bubbles and heat with pedicure
- Massage and bubbles together with heat and pedicure
- Pedicure only

I tend to favour the setting that offers all the treatments.

For the pedicure section of the foot spa there are 4 different attachments these are:

- Pumice stone attachment perfect for removing the hard skin from the bottom of my feet, its very effective .

- Brush attachment this is good for using after the pumice to clean away any dead skin thats still left, its supposedly supposecd to also give a soft massage i'm not sure if i would go as far as to say that but it does still feel nice.

-Accupressure attachment with magnet, this has little accupreassure pins that when you activate it by placing your foot on the attachment rise up and down giving a localised massage, i love this one you can really feel it working and is very relaxing.

- Massage attachment, this attachment has small balls in it that give a stimulating massage as it rotates takes a bit of getting used to if you have ticklish feet.

As part of the aromatherapy the spa comes with 2 50ml bottles of treatment oils and 16 fizzy aroma tablets (2 types 8 of each):

- Gentle lavender + vitamin E treatment oil, this is designed to be relaxing and moisturising, this is not suitable for use if you are pregnant.

-Eucalyptus & tea tree treatment oil, this is designed to be stimulating and cleansing it has a very refreshing aroma.

- Peppermint aroma fizzy tablets, this is really cooling and perfect if you have tire hot and swollen feet.

- Citrus aroma fizzy tablet, the aroma awakens your senses and is perfect against tiredness and fatigue.

To fill the spa up you can either take it to the sink and fill it there or fill it using a jug making sure its not plugged in while doing so, i use a jug as its easier. To empty you need to pick the spa up pour the water down the sink or bath using the pouring side of the spa, you need to be careful not to let the power cord and plug come in contact with the water while doing so. I think the spa would benefit from some sort of drainage feature as 7 times out of 10 i end up spilling at least a bit of water on the way to the sink.

To clean all you need to do is rinse the spa with warm water then use a damp cloth to wipe clean especially important after using a tablet, if you want you can use a light cleaning spray
