It has 9 pre-set lengths (1.5mm to 18mm) of cutting, easily adjusted by a locking zoom-wheel, so you can achieve anything from designer stubble, to a thick but well-kept and tidy beard. It is also the only product of its kind to use ceramic rather than steel blades. This means you never need to sharpen or oil them. The trimmer has a built in rechargeable battery, so you don't need to have it plugged in whilst shaving. I have found the charge lasts for about 30-40 minutes, but it does have an early-warning low battery indicator light on the unit, so you have ample warning when you're about to run out of juice. The product only comes with a mains rechargeable cord, which of course means you can't charge it in your bathroom using a shaver socket. Other useful things built into the product include rubber grips at the side so you can keep the shaver steady without worrying it might slip, and also a pop-up trimmer for precision in difficult areas like the moustache. In addition to the shaver you are also given a tiny styling comb, a small brush to clean hairs off it, and a black travel pouch. It is also worth mentioning that the device can also be used not just to trim your beard, but is also fine at trimming body hair. I would however not recommend using it to shave the hair on your head, as we tried this on my housemate to less than successful results.
My experience of it after 6 months use is that it is very reliable, does exactly what you want, is very easy to use, and I can't imagine another product doing more for the same price.
