The straightner itself is very slim and fits nicelly into your hands...alot easier than some of these big chunky ones! AND it comes with a little storage bag a comb and some sectioning clips! I had always needed some of them! I couldn't wait to use it, so whipped out the instructions, even though its pretty easy to figure out how to use it, though I wanted to make sure I didn't break them!
The straightner simply plugs in, you switch on the the switch and a little red light comes on and in 60 seconds its ready to use! its great, for some straightners you can be waiting for ages for them to heat up! As it was heating up I did notice a strange kind of smell, not an unbearable smell but I am guessing its just the smell of the ceramic plates heating up because it does smell the same each time I turn it on!
The straighter fitted nicely into my hand and when I ran it through a section of hair it was instantly smooth and straight! I guess the packaging is telling the truth "instant salon-straight hair!" The straighters are EXTREMELY hot, you have to make sure not to put it too near your scalp and also it recommends in the instructions not to run it through the same section of hair more than twice. Although I doubt it you will need to because I have pretty thick hair and it works fine with just one run through most of the time!
Half way through using it I did notice another smell, this time it was burning! As I was holding the straightener I had accidently turned the switch half on and half off! that is the only annoying thing about this product, the switch moves in the off direction as you are using it, although I have found a way of using it the other way around so this does not happen!
It took me about 20 minutes to turn my naturally curly thick hair into salon straight hair! and my hair is very long too so I was extremely impressed! No frizz and no static and my hair was smooth and felt conditioned!! Infact I have friends that have spent over £90 on GHD (Good Hair Day) straighters that work exactly the same, and you can get these straighters for under £25 at Argos, Boots, Tesco, etc. So why pay £90?
I am so pleased with this straighter and its so easy to whip out quickly in the morning because it is so quick at heating up! Also I find my hair stays straight until I next wash it, even in the wind and even in slight rain! its amazing!
Overall:
Appearance: Very stylish, with yellow ceramic plates, I like it!
Heat: Very powerful, 60 minutes to heat up. Recommended not to keep on for more than 30 minutes!
On/off button: Quite annoying, in an awkward position on the handle and can accidently be switched off during use
Does it work? DEFINATELY does! just make sure you take quite small sections and run through no more than 2 times!
Value for money? : very good! you pay less than half the price of other products that do the same job
Advantages: heats up in 60 seconds, does what it says, Disadvantages: on-off switch
...My brother bought me some Remington Hair Straighteners. After all the raving about GHD, I was worried how these would be in comparison, and I will tell you, I wasn’t disappointed with them. Firstly, you can’t help but notice how slim and comfy they feel to hold. They are reasonably light, and there is little difference between the look of them to the GHD model. It may sound cliché, but they really do what they say on the box.
‘Ceramic-coated plates ... ...thick hair’
My hair is below my shoulder and quite thick, and most defiantly uncared for. When I ran the straighteners down the first section of hair, I delighted to find it straighter than my hair had been with several attempts of my Babyliss straighteners. On my hair it takes 1 or 2 run throughs on the front, and about 3 on the back. Although to some this may seem a lot, take into account that with my old straighteners it would take up to an hour ...

Advantages: a LOT LOT cheaper than GHD Disadvantages: storage bag is flimsy
...before I decided upon the Remington ones. The were marked up at £34.99 with free sectioning comb, clips and storage bag. Bargain! I thought. So I went to the till were the price came up at £29.99, even better!
I know that this is VERY cheap in the ceramic straighteners world so I thought that I could try them and if they were not very good I could return them. I didn't need to. They are very good.
They look just like ghd straighteners in size and ... ...has well.
They only have one heat setting so if you have very thick/course hair they may not be as good, but for my own hair they are.
For them to work it is simply a case of plugging them in turning them on and they are ready to go in 60 seconds.
The box states that the ceramic coating gives even heat distribution and that they glide smoothly through even long thick hair. The straighteners have an heat distribution pad at the tip so that you ...

Advantages: Value for money, excellent results, Disadvantages: You will need to use some sort of product to prevent your hair being damaged.
All of my life I have suffered with hair that is neither curly or straight. I wouldn't mind which it was, but it has never really been either. My hair is also very thick so styling it has always been such a nightmare. When GHD's came out they seemed to be the thing that would put an end to my misery. However I couldn't justify spending that much money to my boyfriend, for the sake of making my hair straight. These however, are fantastic. I have never ... ...wanted. They can straighten even large sections of hair in a very quick space of time and heat up in about 30 seconds. After I had been using them for a while I did notice my hair was getting damaged though. I had heard about using a product on my hair prior to straightening, but whatever I tried it just left my hair feeling like, well, it had product in it. I have finally found a winning combination. Ordinary shampoo. Frizz-Ease Miraculous Recovery ...

Advantages: cheap, effective Disadvantages: havent found any yet
...comes to me but the Remington Power Ceramic are a legend unto themselves. I found them purely by accident and at £12.50 i figured it was a sign, almost as if the goddess of hair had put them there for me to find.
~~~~~THE LOOK OF IT ALL~~~~~
The straightners themselves are very slimline and easy to get back into the original box. Mine are navy blue with snazzy lime green & white writing showing the brand and type but with going OTT. The cord is ... ...getting ready for a girls night out (i.e. listening to music & straightening at the same time so it leaves dancing room). There's also an on off switch so you can leave them plugged in al the time, just switch them on as and when you need them.
~~~~~THE EFFECT~~~~~
These straightners are a legend! I wash my hair once every three days and if I straighten it on the day i wash it the effects are still mostly there three days later, I think its only ...

Advantages: The speed they heat up. Long cable. The heat! Disadvantages: Keep accidentally switching them off when using them
Every time I go to the hairdressers, they use their GHD ceramic £100+ ago set of straighteners on my hair and I walk out feeling like a princess with stupidy straight hair which shines and doesn't mess up and go frizzy in the slightest of breezes. Could never bring myself to spend that much money on straighteners myself, but I suppose if you add up at the cost of all the pairs I have bought in my search to find a cheap but effective alternative, ... ...Until I bought my Reminigton Straighteners! They heat up to full capacity in about 10 seconds, and the plates are set back enough from the edges to protect your knuckles and fingers, which if your anything like me, always burn when straightening. Once I've straighened my hair before work in the morning and got on the train, I spend most of the morning worrying about whether or not I turned off my straighteners, and if my house would be burnt down ...

Advantages: They have a little clip thing on base so it can rest on a platform without burning anything, they have a heat-proof bag to put them in once you've finished using them, you can choose the heat setting and they are cheaper than all others in their league. Disadvantages: None...yet!
RemingtonPowerCeramicStraighteners - I have had a few straighteners in my time so I know what I am talking about when I say these are by far the best. I have tried GHDs and they are good, but if you read this review you will find out why I chose these over them!
IN SHORT WHY ARE THESE STRAIGHTENERS GOOD?
They straighten in a glide and leave my hair light and sleek. My hair stays straight and shiny for ages. I bought them after reading the reviews and my friend has too. We love them.
WHY SHOULD OTHERS BUY THEM??
A wonderful and inexpensive buy. Like a lot of the other reviewers, I was going to buy the GHD straighteners, but was put off by the cost. These Remingtons do the same job, at a vastly reduced cost. I too have thick hair (like rope, one hairdresser said), with a tendency to curl. These have knocked out all ...
Advantages: Digital display, automatic shut off, controlled variable temperature Disadvantages: I've had better straighteners in the past
When my wonderful Remingtonpowerceramics began to die on me, I decided to invest in some hair straighteners that would straighten or curl my hair, as I'd been pleased with the results when my hairdresser curled my hair with straighteners for my wedding day. I have naturally curly hair and spend the vast majority of my life trying to straighten it, but the curls created with straighteners are far more pretty and feminine than my naturally wild Vileda super mop look, and the hairdresser made the style look so easy to recreate.
Since I am pretty loyal to Remington, I decided to opt for the same brand again. I'd heard really good things about these straighteners and thought it made far more sense to spend £40 on these instead of stupid amounts on GHD's. To be honest, I've never really understood why people are so willing to part ...
