Advantages: Close cut, nice feel. Disadvantages: Very regular cleaning needed

I may have a variation on the above description as mine is the R9410 Titanium and IS washable according to the manual and the decal on the front.

If, like me you can't get on with wet-shaving, you need a decent electric model. I've used this particular one since Christmas having picked it up in a sale in Argos as my old one had finally given up the ghost. I may have a variation on the above description as mine is the R9410 Titanium and IS washable according to the manual and the decal on the front. It is curved (like a banana) in shape making it easy to hold which counteracts its rather heavy feel. For shaving it has three floating heads that give a close cut if you move in a small circular motion. The manual suggests that you don't press too heavily as you may damage the cutting heads so it may not be quite as robust as other makes. I've not had a problem thus far. The back of the shaver had an inbuilt trimmer for sideburns that easily opens up with the press of a switch. It can be operated from the mains or battery but if you use the former it can shorten the battery life. A red light on the front indicates when the battery is running low. A green light when it is charging off the mains. Needs recharging roughly every 10 days but of course depends on usage. Like most men probably, I find cleaning a shaver a chore, and unfortunately with this model it has to be done every other day if you produce a lot of stubble as it tends to slow the cutting speed down. Cleaning on this model is harder than on others I've used. Whilst it is easy to open the top by pressing the sides and then removing the three plastic guards with a twist, it gets harder. The stubble (I hate that word) doesn't fall into the back chamber but stays in each individual head under the blades. You can clean most of it with the brush provided but to take it apart further to really clean the nooks and crannies is a nightmare. The instructions do not suggest rinsing out that part under the tap, only the chamber, which as I said doesn't really accumulate much. All in all it's an OK shaver but I've had better and if it needs replacing in the future I'll look for another.
