I have gone from GHD to Remington S2003 as although GHD are amazing but not made to last that long compared to how much they cost I decided to purchase RemingtonS2003 as I couldnt afford to purchase other GHDs at that time.. My hair is quite thick. I guess if a person had finer hair these may be more suitable however, they DO leave your hair dried out, so dont believe all they hype about how they dont. The item has 'JOIN THE SHINE REVOLUTION' stated all over the box - which is a bit strange seeing as since I used them my hair now resembles a haystack !!! . On the box it states that a leading trichologist said that extensive tests had showed remarkable properties drastically reducing hair damage. It would be interesting to know on what hair types the tests were carried out on! The design is terrible!!! You have to press and hold to switch on and then wait for them to heat up, and it sometimes takes over 60 seconds. There is a badly designed minimum to maximum heat up dial on side of the straighteners, which is so basic in design that when using the straighteners the dial gets moved constantly by holding them - its unavoidable - so from being hot one moment they suddenly become much cooler and you have to turn the dial again to maximum. I now put tape over the dial to stop it moving! They are not comfortable to use at all and although they do have a Cool tip which when pressed gives a higher level of heat, it is really difficult to hold press and straighten whilst also trying to press the cool tip! The plates are advertised as having 'remarkable hair protecting properties' however from my own experience I would say that my hair has never looked so dull and frizzy and dried out since using them!!! I bought mine reduced from Comet from £59.99 to £24.99 and I am so glad I never paid full price! I spent ages straightening with these and then within an hour waves and kinks start to appear and hair loses the straightness. This never happened with GHD and I regret not purchasing them. I therefore feel it is best to purchase items on personal recommendations by word of mouth off people you know and also reading as many reviews on the item, intstead of just believing they advertising hype by the manufacturers like I did! and as you may have notcied ..I therefore personally dont recommend! :(
