Remington Protect and Shine are professional slim ceramic straighteners with ceramic-tourmaline-nano-silver and teflon coated plates for easy glide. They provide superior protection for healthy looking hair with more shine. The ceramic- tourmaline-nano-silver is rich with ions. It reduces static and frizz. The teflon coating gives easy glide, protection against product build up and prevents snagging and breakage.
The straighteners give instant high heat in 60 seconds, which is great when your in a rush!! The heat is also variable between 140 - 200 degrees C. which gives you a choice depending on your hair type. The one problem with them is they get hot very quickly, therefore by the time you have finished doing your hair the handle can be a bit hot, but not so uncomfortable that you can't hold them! They have an indicator light which shows red when the straighteners are on so it is easy to see and also have a heat protection stand. This is great and is something I have never had on straighteners before. It comes in extremely useful and means you can leave your straighteners to cool without having to worry whether or not they are burning through the mat! They also come with a very useful heat protection bag. This again is the first time I have had one of these and it came in when I went away for the weekend. It is useful for storing the straighteners in for travel but also I am very conscious of making sure they are cold before putting them in my bag for the fear of burning something. With the bag I could pack the straighteners whilst they were still a bit warm with no problems. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't trust it to pack them when they were still hot but I was someone who wouldn't put them anywhere near my bag for at least half an hour after switching them off!!
The 3m swivel cord is great and comes in when you are on holiday as all us girls know they like to put the plug socket well away from any mirror which may be in the room!! They also come with a three year guarentee.
This is my second pair of remington straighteners. I bought my first pair after my GHDs blew up! I couldn't afford anymore so I tried remington. I was so impressed with the first pair, I went and got these a couple of months ago. I got them from boots but would imagine they are readily available elsewhere. I was lucky as I bought them when they were reduced so I only paid £27 for them. They are normally around the £40 mark but compared to the price of GHDs, this isn't too bad.
If you use straighteners, I would not hesitate in recommending these to you. I loved my GHDs when I had them but didn't like the price tag too much! For my hair, these are just as good and I would definately say to you to give them a go!!
