(+) Funky pattern, quick to heat up, adjustable temperature, slim, lighweight (-) Have to prise them away from mum when I want to use them in the morning
Advantages: GHD quality for half the price Disadvantages: I keep pressing the "OFF" button by mistake!
So, like every other woman/girl I love GHD's-I used a friend's once and was hooked-hers were a gift, but they cost from £95 from selected hair salons. Kept umming and ahhing whether to fork out for some, in the meantime used other people's!
When I was getting ready to go out one night, a friend had brought Remington 2x ceramic straightners round-I used these and could not tell the difference between GHD'S.
Ok, these cost around £49.99 and you can get them from anywhere-Argos, Index etc. They heat up in around 10 seconds-it's only a few seconds more than GHD's anyway!
They have ceramic plated irons, and are fairly slim, they have an on/off sliding button, and a red light appears when they are switched on-the only downfal about these straighteners is that when you are using them, your thumb may turn them off again, but this ...
Advantages: Top class performance, excellent results, great value Disadvantages: Absolutely none - unless you're accident prone!
. Place them on a flat , smooth heat resistant surface. Use clips to section hair if necessary and always start from the back straightening lower layers first. Never go over a section of hair more than twice.

There is another similar product available, the RemingtonCeramic and Teflon Coated Straightener which claims to offer ...
Advantages: Heat up very fast. Disadvantages: People assume they're not as good as GHD.
The particular model that I am refering to in this review, are the RemingtonS1002 slim ceramic Teflon coated model. I originally bought these because they were only £35, assuming that they would just about do the job, as I really could not justify paying £100 for GHD straighteners. I thought that GHDs were just a craze, I must admit, it is a craze that has lasted, but I feel they have an unjustified high status.
After using these straighteners for the first time, Iknew that I had bought the right ones. Myhair is kind of frizzy, but also quite oily, (that's hairdresser talk for greasy!). I have always bought straighteners that included a steamer, to moisturise my hair, which always just made it more frizzy. I grew really fed up of this, and cut it off, myself, into a short bob. Surprise, surprise, not but one month later ...
