These are the first pair of Remington Straighteners I've ever owned and definately the best. My husband bought them for me for Christmas - he knew I was after a pair of GHD's but couldn't find them on the high street (us girls know they are only available through the web) so settled for these. He accidently bought me the wide plates - even though I have quite thick wavy and frizzy hair - I've always used the slim plates on previous straighteners. Why? i don't actually know. The wide plates on this particular pair just make straightening my hair so much easier than ever before.

Anyway back to the straighteners themselves, they are teflon nano gold ceramic coated plates. Sound posh don't they - I honestly don't know the difference between all the plates on the market - but these sound good. They can be used on wet or dry hair - i personally prefer to dry my hair and then straighten it but the option is there to do it whilst damp as well.

The top temperature is 200 degrees which isn't as hot as my last pair or even some of the other straighteners currently available on the market - however its still extremely hot and they work perfectly at this heat.

They are ready to use in less than a minute - I normally plug them in and by the time i've brushed my hair through and sectioned it - they are more than hot enought to do the job.

The temperature is fully adjustable so if the top temp is too hot you can turn them right down to a more suitable temperature.

They also come complete with a heat protective bag so they are safe to put away without having to wait for the straighteners to cool down first.

One of the best thing about these is the cord length - 3 metres which is a good length if your mirror is a distance away from your plug socket.

The manufacturers warranty of 3 years is also a good bonus too. It gives you a bit more faith in the product - how many times have you heard of straighteners burning out well before the end of the first year of owning them.

Back to the straighteners - I really wasn't sure what to expect the first time I used these but I was quickly convinced. I usually have to run over the same section of hair 2 or 3 times before I can see that its straight. Not with these I saw instant results from the very first attempt. I only have to use these when I have washed my hair - my hair will then stay straight until the next time I wash my hair - which before was unheard of - i probably straightened my hair every day which as you know isn't very good for your hair. I would recommend these to anyone who is thinking of trying them - they are fantastic and I hope to continue using these for a long, long time.

Price - the price of these have come down a lot since xmas - they were in the argos book for about £60.00 but now they are £39.99 - which is a really good price for such a good pair of straighteners.
