The smooth plates are kind to my hair, but with hairspray can become sticky - like most hair straighteners.

The Remington S9000s are also quite heavy, unlike the GHD's, so even though they straighten out my waves for a good few hours, I wouldn't recommend them to people with frizzy or unruly hair that they want straightened out! ... more

The Remington S9000s are also quite difficult to programme to the right temperature, a simple 'hot' or 'cool' setting would have worked perfectly, but its like using a clothes iron on your hair!
