I thought that hair straightening was just somehthing that people with very curly hair did until my friend offered to do mine and i loved it. She had the very expensive GHD variety and very very curly hair so at the time i went for some very cheap £40 straighteners and was dissapointed with the results. I also got fed up with blow drying my hair or waiting for it to dry before straightening it and either being late everyday or going out looking like a total state.
My boyfirend bought me the wet to straight straighteners for my birthday and i have to say that at first i was very sceptical that you could put extremely hot straighteners onto wet hair with no protective products whatsoever.
The idea is actually quite simple. the plates use heat to seal moisture into your hair as they dry it and you end up with shiny silky hair and i have to say that for 90% of the time this is the case for me.
The controls are simple, there is an on/off switch and a heat / hair thickness dial. the only issue i have with this dial is that is it not very easy to see being black on black. you then separate your hair into sections and go, making sure to keep the holes in the staighteners facing outwards as these are the vents for the steam.. its as simple as that! you can also use them on dry hair with products as usual if you wish so they are pretty versatile in that way.
I have found that if the weather conditions are right, ie not too windy or damp the straightening effects are good for a couple of days which is great for going away or just not being at home for one night.
the only thing i would say to watch out for (and this is something that i am not mindful enough of) is the dampness of your hair when you straighten it. too wet and it will take forever, not wet enough and you may end up dry and flyaway at the ends. This is just me going off and making sandwiches and other such motherly things in the morning and leaving it too long. If you follow the instructions then you will most probably be fine.
Don't be dissapointed if you do not get perfect results first time with these, as with everything in life it takes practice and will feel weird if you are used to using fry strraighteners only.
