Verbatim are no longer word-perfect

Advantages: Great reputatioon, large storage capacity
Disadvantages: Half of them didn't work

I have been buying this brand for ages, and was always a big fan. They are more expensive than some other brands, like memorex, but I thought they were worth the extra. They were reliable, burned well (no coasters as people say) and you could always tell by looking at them that they were good. This is the first time I've bought this particular type - with two recording layers they are supposed to offer you almost double the capacity on a single side, ...
...for even the most enthusiastic home movie maker! Well that's true, and the one's I got to work, worked fine, but lots didn't work. One you could see when I took it out of the box it was all bubbled on the surface, so I didn't even try to burn that one. And of the pack of 10 I bought, 3 so far have not worked out of 7 I've used, not including the bubbled one, which I'm sure won't work. So that's only 50% good, so far. I'm not happy, especially ...

Verbatim DVD+RW 4X never fail

Advantages: reliable, every disc works, long shelf life
Disadvantages: Pricy

...bought the first batch of Verbatim DVD+RW from Amazon in 2004 and then bought some more in 2006 from DigiUK.com. Reliability They are used as re-writable disc for temporarily storing holiday photos, documents, electronic statements/bills etc until nearly a DVD full --> burn into DVD+/-R disc. Also, they are temporary recording of TV programmes using my DVD recorder. Most of them are used regularly since 2004. Almost 5 years on none of them shows ...

Possibly one of the best on earth

Advantages: For high quality and professional use
Disadvantages: Price might not be for everyone

Verbatim is possibly one of the top Recordable and Portable media suppliers that i've ever come accross. Although some products mas seem a little pricey I can pretty much tell you that it's probably worth it, of course that will depend on what you are using the dvd for. Verbatim disks are very high quality so i wouldnt suggest that you buy this simply for storing your extra files, music or videos. They are more expensive than the rest for a reason. ...

If you are planing to buy this product then i suggest that you think carefully what it's going to be used for. King of blank media!

Advantages: High quality, low cost!
Disadvantages: None!

I began using Sony DVD-R disks, after switching from Tayio Yuden disks, as they were more cost effective. Tayio Yuden disks are renowned as probably the best disks on the market, however they do come at a price. I saw the Sony DVD-R disks on offer on Play.com some time ago, so I decided to buy some as it worked out quite a bit cheaper than the Taiyo Yuden. It's only storage

Advantages: Cheap enough, Sony Brand
Disadvantages: Unreliable on some writers

...a green colour, with the Sony logo, and CD-r in large letters, as well as siez 700Mb / 80Min. The reverse of this is a white are to write the title of the disk, date etc. The front also has a small circular cut-out which allows you to see if the disk is inside the case or not - meaning you don't even have to open it to find out! The reverse of the packaging is in a black design, including the spine - this is annoying as you cannot write on the spine ...
...reliability of writing onto these Sony disks, both with my previous old slow Medion CD-Writer and my current Samsumg CD-Writer. I've got far too many coasters lying around for my liking.
