rewritable unfortunately not lightable
Advantages: nice cover Disadvantages: no indication of speed, bad write speed
...on buying 2 of these Sony dvd-rws. Solely because they were £2 each, came in a nice jewel case and it had the sony brand on which meant good quality to me. What i found interesting was ebuyer sent me the 2 dvd-rws in a big box and a bag of air which meant they had f*cked me on shipping (excuse my french) So i received them after a few days of ordering and off i went in writing all my essential data and porn. Once placing the dvd into my drive i proceeded ... ...burn stage there was no option for speed, i was using nero and since i wasn't in a hurry i just pressed burn. But unfortunately what happened was that each bar which represented 1% took 30 or more seconds to appear. This frustrated me as i was used to quick dvd-r writing at 4x. I realised that this was 1x writing and i immediately turned the monitor off and went to watch Eastenders. Eastenders begun at 7.30 and when I returned from watching the worst ...

King of blank media!
Advantages: High quality, low cost! Disadvantages: None!
I began using Sony DVD-R disks, after switching from Tayio Yuden disks, as they were more cost effective. Tayio Yuden disks are renowned as probably the best disks on the market, however they do come at a price. I saw the Sony DVD-R disks on offer on Play.com some time ago, so I decided to buy some as it worked out quite a bit cheaper than the Taiyo Yuden.
Since the disks were on offer, I was expecting to find them to be of sub-standard quality, ... ...success rate with all the Sony disks that I have burned, about the same as the Tayio Yuden, but at a fraction of the cost.
I have tried many different branded disks over the years, and Sony are definitely the best that I have used, from a quality and cost point of view. A common problem with many other brands is that they will only play movies on certain makes of DVD players, but the Sony disks have played on several different DVD players for me ...

It's only storage
Advantages: Cheap enough, Sony Brand Disadvantages: Unreliable on some writers
...a green colour, with the Sony logo, and CD-r in large letters, as well as siez 700Mb / 80Min. The reverse of this is a white are to write the title of the disk, date etc. The front also has a small circular cut-out which allows you to see if the disk is inside the case or not - meaning you don't even have to open it to find out!
The reverse of the packaging is in a black design, including the spine - this is annoying as you cannot write on the spine ... ...reliability of writing onto these Sony disks, both with my previous old slow Medion CD-Writer and my current Samsumg CD-Writer. I've got far too many coasters lying around for my liking. I am not expecting perfection, I expect 1% to fail, but anything more than this and I'll look elsewhere. I'm not suggesting for one moment that Sony disks are poor quality, because I'm sure they're not. They do however not like my CD-Writers, and I have more problem ...

Verbatim DVD+RW 4.7 GB 4x
Advantages: Enough space Disadvantages: Keep stopping
...to say about this pack. Verbatim always had good CDs and DVDs. But the last 3 dvds just didn't did their jobs... Maybe it's just my computer that burns really bad dvds or just my program for burning them.... It's also posible that I have DVD player that isn't so good. I really don't know but i know that my Verbatim DVDs keep stopping... I keep them in boxes, so they aren't damaged. I will decide if I will keep buying them or not. There are other ...

To create those professional looking discs
Advantages: Durable, reliable, low failure rate, ability to etch on a label Disadvantages: A bit slower than some discs
Verbatim light scribe DVD+Rs are discs used to back up and burn all your home movies on. Each disc can store up to 4.7 GB of data, which equates to roughly 2 hours of film, which I consider to be more than enough for a home movie since I find people tend to get bored after an hour or so.
One of the best features of the verbatim is the light scribe facility. For those of you that are unaware a light scribe facility enables you to print an iridescent ... ...a Memorex disc and a verbatim disc and the verbatim was noticeably better.
I find the build quality of the verbatim discs second-to-none. Compared to other discs I have used in the past it feels more solid and doesn’t flex as much, despite being the same thickness. I also find the verbatims don’t tend to scratch as easily, hence they last longer. The verbs just seem to be better all round and superior to other discs on the market.
Prior to using ...
