Quality branded DVD-R's from TDK
Advantages: Reputable and reliable Disadvantages: Bad colour
...for the pack of 100 TDK DVD-R's (4.7Gb, 16 x speed), which I consider to be great value for a reliable, reputable make such as TDK.
I have used about half of the discs so far, mainly for films but also for backing up data, photos etc, from the PC. I have not encountered a single faulty disc, as of yet. They seem very reliable, and have a write speed of upto 16 x, although I have not been able to test this as my DVD writer only writes at a maximum ...

Who Needs Next Gen Discs?
Advantages: Perfect, No flaws Disadvantages: Can't think of any!
I finally caught up with technology and got my first DVD Re-writer over four months ago now and was faced with a dilemma over what Blank Media Discs I should use!
So many on the market to choose, ranging from your Lidl discs to your Sony discs and quite frankly I found it a bit of a nightmare.
However after spending a good few hours looking online at available discs and finding out other peoples opinions I finally settled on the TDK. At first I ... ...bought a few indiviual ones first to test them out.
On arrival I prepared I used a well known media program to back up copies of family photos, as well as selecting some family videos and media to give it a wide range of tests.
After waiting patiently for it to complete the 'burn' I removed the disc and then promptly took it to the DVD player to test the videos & photos. All worked no problem. Next I tried it on two alternative computers to ensure ...

Verbatim DVD+RW 4.7 GB 4x
Advantages: Enough space Disadvantages: Keep stopping
...to say about this pack. Verbatim always had good CDs and DVDs. But the last 3 dvds just didn't did their jobs... Maybe it's just my computer that burns really bad dvds or just my program for burning them.... It's also posible that I have DVD player that isn't so good. I really don't know but i know that my Verbatim DVDs keep stopping... I keep them in boxes, so they aren't damaged. I will decide if I will keep buying them or not. There are other ...

To create those professional looking discs
Advantages: Durable, reliable, low failure rate, ability to etch on a label Disadvantages: A bit slower than some discs
Verbatim light scribe DVD+Rs are discs used to back up and burn all your home movies on. Each disc can store up to 4.7 GB of data, which equates to roughly 2 hours of film, which I consider to be more than enough for a home movie since I find people tend to get bored after an hour or so.
One of the best features of the verbatim is the light scribe facility. For those of you that are unaware a light scribe facility enables you to print an iridescent ... ...a Memorex disc and a verbatim disc and the verbatim was noticeably better.
I find the build quality of the verbatim discs second-to-none. Compared to other discs I have used in the past it feels more solid and doesn’t flex as much, despite being the same thickness. I also find the verbatims don’t tend to scratch as easily, hence they last longer. The verbs just seem to be better all round and superior to other discs on the market.
Prior to using ...

Good media, reasonably fast writing speed
Advantages: good value for money and good writing speed Disadvantages: none so far
...cross-checked it on the official Memorex website. Initially I went to the memorex.co.uk website and choose 'shop' option. A new windows opened and then I chose from the side menu 'CD/DVD' under 'media'. There is only a 5/pack option! I did a search and exactly the same results. A fake? Not ! When I did a search on the main site without selecting the 'shop' option, There is a 10/cake box package option available and it looks exactly like the one that ... ...with the memorex website.
