Megane 1.5dci Dynamique (80)

Advantages: Economy, reliability, comfort
Disadvantages: small boot

I've owned a 1.5DCI Dynamique from new (2004) and have covered 63,000 miles. Had a couple of minor things fixed under warranty, door handle paint and steering column knock(?), despite not buying the car from a Main Dealer they honoured warranty repairs. Cheap Road Tax, Car Insurance, comfortable, lots of toys and economical. The only unusual fault was an intermittent STOP / OIL indication, which lasted a day or two - suspected wet electrics when ...
...time I was a bit unnerved by the complexity of the electronic systems, 7 units talking hooked up to diagnostics, but it settled down. That was 6,000 miles ago though. Interestingly the stalling of the rear wash wipe (common) is a s/w fault, in my case I didn't bother mentioning this until the STOP light problem, but it could have beenfixed under warranty otherwise - though new hardware (ECU) is required for my 2004 car - don't know what else this ...

Renault Sedan ll 1.9dci

Advantages: Enjoyable drive, nice drivers car.
Disadvantages: Poor quality interior, nice to look at.

Driving a 2006 Megan Sedan 1.9 dci which is approaching it's 60000 service. Love the car, with that torque it make town driving fun. Handling a pleasure with excellent breaking system, still running on the original Michelin tyres. Some gripes : 1) Interior beige colour, one gets used to it but durability is not good. I have had both interior door handle replaced and still the colour comes off leaving a black base. The colour on the drivers seat ...
...storage leaks water, constantly dry it out, get told by the agents that it is linked to the window drainage, bad design somewhere. 3) Plastic skid pan, what a piece of junk, it breaks if you look at it, how about an alluminium alternative. 4) Main/dip switch control, make it a positive click and not the naffy control at present. 5) Generally the storage compartments are tacky and not meant to last, the "hinges' are plastics strips, not HINGES, ...

My Megane 1.4 Hatch

Advantages: Looks, economy, confort and above all safety
Disadvantages: how much it broke my bank

I purchased a Renault Megane Hatch last year in August 2002, it was my first car as i had previously had motor bikes. Due to only being 21 and it being my first car + knowing that the model i wanted was the Dynamique i decided to check a few insurance quotes to see if i could stretch to the 1.6 model or whether i would be limited to the 1.4. After many £1000+ quotes i was getting no-where, finally i heard £917 fully comprehensive from Tesco for the ...
...as the clutch on teh renault was much lighter and there was next to no bite, other than that though it was great. As time has progressed I can have no complaints about my car other than the fact i was not able to purchase it in Ottoman Blue (the best colour in my opinion), barring this i can't complain, it drives well, handles exceptionally, and is quick enough for me, if i wanted fast i would get on my motorbike! I only have a short journey of 4 ...

2000 W Renault Megane Coupe - Sport Alize

Advantages: Great engine, good looks, high spec, reliable
Disadvantages: lacklustre handling, harsh ride, bland interior

I bought my W-reg Renault Megane Coupe 1.6 Sport Alize January 2007. I paid nearly £3000 for this car including the value of my old Citroen AX which I part-exchanged in as part of the deal. I had been looking for this model for some time and was relieved to finally purchase one from a local garage. I bought it with 86000 miles on the clock. It now has 99000. STYLING - Initially one the main reasons I started looking for the coupe variant of the ...
...its age now compared to newer models on the market, the car is still an attractive shape. My model is bright red with the standard 15" alloy wheels and overall the car looks sporty and squat. Inside unfortunately the styling flair is not continued inside, and the fact that this car is based on the megane hatch becomes apparent. Dull grey plastic is abundant and the interior layout and detailing doesnt really match the sporty exterior. The plastics ...

Renault Megane Convertable 1.6

Advantages: Stylish and surprisingly roomy in the boot
Disadvantages: sluggish engine

The Meagane has a five star safety rating which was just the assurance I needed when I becam a first time mum. My two seater Tigra was no longer big enough to carry everything I needed, and the Meagne provided the stylish looks but practical features I required. The boot provided enough room for a large Silver Cross Pram and plenty of shopping as well. The seatbelts in the back where long enough to hold securely a baby seat and the storage compartments ...
...Megane is the 1.6litre engine feels sluggish and slow but the air conditioning, digital diplays, and fully retractable lid make up for its shortcomings. A lovely car for family to own but not one for the boy racers. Fuel consumption was excellent and despite reading reviews on poor retractable roof quality mine has not had a problem and has functioned perfectly every time. Beware - the bonnet is made of a very material (part of the safety features ...
