Eccentric with a fat arse but I still love her!

Advantages: Spacious interior, carlike drive, loaded with features.
Disadvantages: Thirsty fuel consumption, little boot space, automatic headlights.

...down to two cars, the Renault Grand Scenic and Vauxhall Zafira. Let me explain why we plumped for the Renault. Being on the motability scheme we were given an option of colour (we chose jet black) but were limited to the 1.6 Dynamique Grand Scenic which, is one above the basic model. However, this was still more than we are used to with the best we had driven before an L reg Renault Espace!

In the MPV field the Renault Grand Scenic ...
...favourable with this being a Renault Megane Scenic with what can only be described as a fat arse. The look is identical with a smooth rounded shell with the only difference being the sloped rear of the Megane replaced by a straighter more estate style rear. Not being a fan of the futuristic 70's spacecraft styling of Renaults in general the look of the Grand Scenic is not particularly appealing. However, what sold this car to me over the Vauxhall ... more

Great seven seater to meet your budget

Advantages: A versatile MPV that has various seating combinations for everyday use
Disadvantages: A bit under powered on roads with inclines

...a new addition to the Renault range and has the name "Grand Scenic" , Dynamique model which is fitted with the 1.6 VVT 16V petrol engine, fuel comsuption is pretty good averaging around 32 MPG, whas been better but I do a lot of local driving in a built up area After driving a 15 year old car for the past year the Grand Scenic was a luxury to drive, the drivers seat has a large range of movement, both vertically and horizontally and together with ...
...What I like about Renault is that when they re-design their vehicles they pull out all the stops and make dramatic changes with no exception for the Scenic, the new design is a real eye catcher. But on the other hand as it is a new model this year they have got teething problems as with any other manufactures new models. These are a few problems I have discovered since owning the car. The opening of the glove box is a bit restricted with a front ...

A womans persepctive of a car take a look!

Advantages: Many many advantages
Disadvantages: Not much leg room for the back 2 seats ( Childrens seats in back)

I had a Renault Espace bafore getting this car which was great but the reason I bought the 'Grand Scenic' was that I have 3 children and a step daughter that we have on fortnightly so usually I only reuire 5 seats but fortnightly we need an extra seat. With this review I am going to write it from a drivers point of view as I am not going to pretend to know alot about cars as I am not a mechanic but I do know how to drive and I know how this car handles. ...
...The Renault grand Scenic is an ideal family car with great added exras. Automatic handbrake: You have no handbrake in the centre console instead situated to the right hand side of the steering wheel is a pull on handle which ios your handbrake. this handbrake automatically comes off when you have the clutch at biting point (although you can overide it). When first buying this car I would instantly place my hand down to the centre consol to feel ...

My Renault Grand Scenic

Advantages: Seven Seats
Disadvantages: Thirsty, Rear Suspension quite poor

I have now had the car for a year now and apart from a couple of minor issues (starter motor which was replaced same day under warranty and a check on the middle row seat belt fixings) which the garage sorted out quickly, no more problems. My children are 11 and 14 years of age but the legroom of the back two seats are tight. I find it a ideal car when the two rear seats are flat as the boot space is brilliant, plenty of room for luggage. The car ...
...height is excellent and plenty of hidden storage space to hide things. The only problems that I have found with the car is when going around corners the rear end of the car wanders slightly. The fuel tank holds 60 litres of petrol but it can be a very thirsty car when you are running around the town but is not so bad on longer runs. The three centre seats can fold back for extra luggage space but are quite heavy to lift in and out, also the glove ...

Renault Grand Scenic Dynamique

Advantages: Decent space for third-row passengers and a clever storage mechanism for these seats. Hugely versatile cabin.
Disadvantages: Base models do not come with standard air-conditioning

...twice in early Summer, but Renault City fixed it quickly second time around - a small part was required - all within warranty. Someone crashed into us one day too this Summer, their older Renault was wrecked, but ours suffered only very minor cosmetic damage to front which was covered by other driver's insurance. Testament to vehicle's safety. At present, boot lid does not always indicate it has shut properly so we need to purposefully shut it. ...
...at around 14,000 miles of hard driving. Back tyres okay. Also one set of brake discs at front too. Also had to replace part of exhaust and heat shield after some damage on holidays on rough roads in Spain. Auto features like lights, card key, auto wipers, auto closing windows make driving other vehicles a real hassle as you have to remember to do all these things. Electric handbrake is also a great idea once you get used to it. Again, renders other ...

Quick review of Renault Grand Scenic 1.6 16v

Car gets dirty very quickly, Not too bad on petrol. Although the car is a seven seater, it is very cramped with 7 people inside it and only children (small ones at that) can fit into the back, although the car has a fold up food table at the back, again there is not alot of room. However, the car looks attractive as usually seven seaters look quite big and not very attractive, and also the key which is in form of a card key, although up to date, in the long run will be worse than keys because you drop it in water, well you could be in trouble, you can't beat goold old fashioned keys and a handbrake!!! ...

Grand Scenic ? Pretty good Scenic!

Advantages: Very practical, reasonable looks and comfortable
Disadvantages: Those rear seats are only for tiny legged people

paramount, and the ABS and ?surround? airbags give the Grand Scenic a very safe feel, and the heights of the windows are fantastic in the middle seats, allowing my 3 year old to be able to see out! The Air conditioning is helpful; we just need some decent weather to need it! · Alloy Wheels · Leather Steering Wheel · Hands free Renault card · All electric windows · 7 Seats which move tilt and fold · ABS, ESP for Safety · Air Conditioning · Automatic Headlights/Wipers · 4 x 15W RDS radio CD MP3 with fingertip remote control Summary As a 5 seater, you have a safe, efficient, reliable (touch wood) people carrier? as a 6 seater, one of you is slightly uncomfortable? as a 7 seater, no one bar the driver is comfortable as the luggage is stacked into foot-wells, knees etc It does a good job and the rear seats are easy to put up ...
